(This is Great White's first album of new material in eight years, and its first studio disc since the February 2003 nightclub fire in Rhode Island that killed 100 people including guitarist Ty Longley.)

>> Great White's sound has more in common with the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin than that of their contemporaries. Great White consists of nearly all original members, the most recent of which has a nine year history with the group. The guitar and vocal team of Jack Russell and Mark Kendall are stronger than ever on this explosive new CD and have a unique synergy, not unlike Plant/Page, Tyler/Perry or Jagger/Richards. <<

1. Back To The Rhythm
2. Here Goes My Head Again
3. Take Me Down
4. Play On
5. Was It The Night
6. I'm Alive
7. Still Hungry
8. Standin' On The Edge
9. How Far Is Heaven
10. Neighborhood
11. Cold World
12. Just Yesterday

When I think of Great White, I think of a really good cover band. The reason I say this is because their biggest hit was a cover of Ian Hunter's "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and one of their other shining moments was their cover of Zeppelin's "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" on MTV's Unplugged. I believe they also covered The Who's "Substitute."

They may very well have had some original hits, but I can't recall any.

Oh great...being in New England, I'm pretty sure that this just means another round of "HOW DARE THEY" from people who remember or were impacted by the Station Nightclub fire. I'm not a fan of the band, never thought that they were that good to begin with and certainly wouldn't disagree with Chris' tag of "cover band", but I also don't think that they deserve to forever be tarred with the brush of the one idiot who decided to set off the pyrotechnics in that small place. Still, people will be calling for the band's heads for having the nerve to pursue a career and actually try to release new material. I wish they'd just change their name to something like "Tiger Shark", "Lemon Shark" or perhaps "Nurse Shark", the latter of which would be perfect for album covers with scantily clad women in skimpy nurse outfits.

Walter, you zany iconoclast!!

You want to talk about synchronicity? Linda posted this yesterday. Last night, TNT aired a Law & Order rerun where the detectives were investigating a rock star whose band set off a flamethrower in a small club.

Things work in strange and mysterious ways here at IMWAN...especially Linda. :ohyes:

Are you suggesting that "she moves in mysterious ways"?

That wasn't a suggestion, Walter - it was a declaration. :ohyes: :ohyes:

And we are celebrating a declaration today, are we not?? 8-)

A-holes should be in jail.

I'm ashamed to say I was a huge fan of theirs before the fire.
