From a new interview with Ronnie Wood in the Sunday Times in the UK:
“Me and Mick have done nine new tracks for the [40th anniversary] re-release of [the Rolling Stones album] Tattoo You. And me, Rod and Kenney [the only surviving original members of Wood’s pre-Rolling Stones band the Faces] have been recording some new Faces music.”

This is interesting. A great collection of outtakes (which does make me wonder what are the 9 "new" tracks? Outtakes of Outtakes spruced up, or "new" new songs (Which would be a bit of a cheat to be in a deluxe vs a new album proper.)?). New Faces music as well? Very cool.

Probably just finishing up some vault tracks. I believe they did that for the Sticky Fingers box set, bringing back Mick Taylor to overdub some guitar parts.
Everytime I hear the announcement of a new Stones deluxe, I can't help but think of Our Jimbo.

Yep, I figure the same, just a little funny as Tattoo You basically was a bunch of outtakes to begin with, where Sticky Fingers etc were vault tracks generally from the recording sessions. In any case, it should be a good one!

Same here.

These are the two greatest single bits of info I have heard in a long time. Thanks, Pete.

There was a leaked 2 CD set containing many outtakes from the era this album was sourced from and some of the songs are brilliant. Surprisingly there still was several great unreleased songs from Goats Head Soup that didn't end up on the deluxe edition last year.

When I feel at my worst like I do now, news like this somehow keeps me going.
I’m wondering if it will be a new Faces album or some new tracks on a compilation.
They should’ve done this when Ian was still alive, but it has some potential.
As for Tattoo You, it’s one of my favorite albums of all-time and I don’t care how it was put together!

I was 15 when Tattoo You was released, and had spent the previous year putting the bulk of my paper route money into buying the Stones' back catalog. Tattoo You was the first Stones album I bought on the day of release so I'll always have a special connection to it. It doesn't hurt that it's a great record. Bring on the deluxe edition.

If you're not nice
We now have a smattering of pre-order links in the first post. They're not active yet, but should be by tomorrow. Release date for all configurations will be October 22nd.
The big box will be four CDs accompanied by a vinyl picture disc LP.
There will probably be a 2CD Deluxe Edition (no links for this yet), and definitely a simple 1CD version.

One rumored 2 disc version appears to be this: The Rolling Stones | Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Remastered Deluxe CD)
Release Date: 22 October, 2021
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Tattoo You celebrates 40 years with the release of a brand new deluxe remastered edition of the chart topping, multiplatinum album.
The 2CD edition of the album includes the newly remastered album alongside Lost & Found, a brand new collection of nine previously unreleased songs from the period of the album's original release, newly completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the band.
Among these, 'Living In The Heart Of Love' is a quintessential Stones rock workout with all of the group on top form, complete with urgent guitar licks and fine piano detail.
Other highlights of Lost & Found include a killer version of 'Shame, Shame, Shame’, first recorded in 1963 by one of the band's blues heroes, Jimmy Reed; their reading of Dobie Gray's soul gem 'Drift Away'; and a fascinating reggae-tinged version of 'Start Me Up’.
Also included is a 20 page booklet including an essay from Kevin Howlett & Jeff Slade.

I'm glad that the legendary (and as far as I know, unbootlegged) version of "Start Me Up" is finally seeing the light of day.
But when I hear about a Stones archival release like this these days, my initial interest/excitement is always immediately followed up with the realization that here is yet another 'new' Stones track that Jimbo never got to hear.

I was confused at first by the Still Life part of the set, but I see it is not an extended version of the boring live album from the U.S. tour. Does anyone know if the Wembley concert is of worthy consideration?
