It's pretty clear that the story takes place in the "post Civil War" Marvel Universe as there are numerous references to heroes being trained to handle situations and Spider-Man being a vigilante, however no mention is made of the Super-Hero Registration Act or Spider-Man's vigilantism being explicitly against the law. His "lawlessness" is discussed by several characters expressing different sides of the argument. But that's not the stunning part: In the story, Peter isn't married, Aunt May is fine, and Mary Jane (whom Peter doesn't recognize!!!!) is apparently a new government trained super-hero named "Jackpot". Also, NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THAT PETER PARKER IS SPIDER-MAN!
W.T.F.?!?!?!?!?

I gotta say, without knowing how they're gonna pull it off, if this is the future direction of Spider-Man in particular and the Marvel Universe in general, I'M IN!!!!!
