perplexing.
Why? I for one am looking forward to this.
Renny meant confounding.
renny meant perplexed, but confounded is also a good word.
because of what was said above, there are surely some much more obvious choices in that wonderful catalog of stewart's than this one....i thought i was the only person who even bought '24 c/parrots'

Sadly, his shows have gotten quite short, too short, but his material is always top notch. I'm in on almost anything that he releases, including this.

The live bonus disc will be great.
The album had a hit single and made the Top 50.
It’s not some obscure piece of work.
Sales aside, why not do this?

you always want to argue.
yes it is a good album, all his albums are actually pretty darn good. but, if you look at his discography only 2 of his albums sold really well, and those are the 2 big ones, of course.
and yes 'midnight rocks' made all the way to #13 in the US (i was shocked that 'year of the cat' only made it up to #8).
in the grand scheme of things though, it just seems that it might have more prudent to start with the big 2 and see how they do and move on from there. that's all.
relax and enjoy your day. maybe harper will hit one in the upper deck today, he almost did it yesterday.

Relax?
How could you interpret anything on this thread as combative?
I said "why not do this?" and that was it.
I don't understand you and never will.

Argue, or just present reasons he is not perplexed to see this get a release?

you know, it ain't even worth trying to explain, there just are not enough of us left that would understand.
your are right and he is right, it is not perplexing, it is definitely the album that i would have done a deluxe treatment on in stewart's catalog too.

That's nice to hear, but that's certainly not what I'd glean from the word "perplexing". If I replied with just the word "perplexing", I'd be prepared for some blowback.

It is quite likely Cherry Red can not Cherry Pick the titles they want from Mr Stewart, it comes down to what they can license from the parent label. Bitching that they did not choose Year of the Cat or Modern Times is quite hilarious in my opinion. They probably could not get them.
We have lots of great versions of Time Passages,Year of the Cat, Modern Times, PP&F plus the Time Passages live promo is out on budget CD. His core catalogue was nailed nicely by Collectors' Choice, all of the CDs sound good and bonus tracks were used on many of them.

I'm neither perplexed nor confounded. I really like this album. But if the tour was partially in support of this album, I would have liked more than just two carrots in concert. It's still on my list though.

If you're not nice
Confirmed that a 2CD Expanded Edition of Year Of The Cat is coming in March, remastered by Alan Parsons. This should end the perplexity and confoundedness. I'll open a thread for it once we have Amazon pre-order links.
