I'm one of the people who still subscribes to Netflix's DVD service, and when I got my latest disc in the mail today, I wondered just how small a crowd that is nowadays, and even worried a little just how much longer the service might be around if the subscriber base is dwindling. So I tried to look it up.
This article is from last summer, but apparently the crowd is bigger than I thought!
https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/04/media/ne ... index.htmlOver 2.7 million subscribers in the US alone, and it's still very profitable for Netflix. That's a relief. I use the streaming service for sure (and several others besides), but the selection is so much better on the DVD side. I think the article said only about 6,000 selections available for streaming compared to about 100,000 for DVDs.
