These recordings were originally released as a very limited 3CD set by the Elvis specialist label FTD in 2012, which sold out immediately. Now the same tracks are being put into general release as a new box set from Sony Legacy:

Description
A BOY FROM TUPELO: THE COMPLETE 1953-1955 RECORDINGS is the definitive collection of Elvis' Sun-era recordings in one comprehensive package.

A BOY FROM TUPELO: THE COMPLETE 1953-1955 RECORDINGS includes on 3 CDs every surviving Elvis Presley Sun master and outtake, plus two private records Elvis paid with his own money to record, as well as all known radio- and concert performances from the period. Many of these recordings are rare demos, session takes, and live performances including a newly discovered and previously unreleased recording of "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" from a 1955 Louisiana Hayride performance.

The accompanying 120-page book compiled by Elvis authority Ernst Mikael Jørgensen and is, in essence, a fully-illustrated travelogue. It details the birth of Elvis' career through facts, anecdotes, documentation, many rare photos, and a succinct narrative. Independence Day 1954 is when this uniquely American saga begins, less than 24 hours before his first professional recording session, and it ends in December 1955, when the rights to Elvis' Sun tapes officially expire and the singer leaves Sam Phillips and Sun Records to record for RCA Victor.

This is the story of Elvis Presley before he becomes world-famous, and how this amazing young man readies himself for stardom, achieving success on a level that no one could have dreamed possible.

Oh man. Thank you Linda. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You've made my day. I didn't get this when it was initially released and I've had search up on Ebay for quite a while looking for a price something short of $300. It never happened. Thank goodness I can buy a new one now at reasonable price.

ShopElvis.com is listing this at $39.98, and Amazon will almost certainly list it for less.

For what it's worth, ShopElvis is also listing a 17-track "Sun Masters LP".

What he said. :yay:

Do you know if the book that came with the set will also be included?

There's a book shown in the packshot in the first post, but I don't know if it has the exact same contents as the one that came with the FTD box.

All the pre-army Elvis is excellent and even the King Creole soundtrack...other than that perhaps his first releases after the army and his 69 comeback. After that each release is spotty - some goood - some bad.
What we have here is his BEST work. This is a MUST purchase.

It's not up at Amazon USA yet, so we don't know what the domestic price is going to be, but the box has already been reduced at Amazon UK down to £24.23 (24% off):

The book with the original 12 x 12 box was about 500 pages and weighed ten pounds. This book is fewer pages, and the box itself appears smaller, so I'm guessing that it's an edited version of the original book, although the text in the original book is in this gigantic font that could probably easily withstand being shrunk to standard 8-point CD booklet-sized fine print.

And, I believe, one extra track (on this new set) is the only difference, track-listing wise. I have the FTD, so I'll pass.

There should be a domestic release. It's not available for pre-order yet, though.

Oh. Ok Linda. Thanks, I think that I'll leave this just in case there isn't a domestic release. They're certainly taking their time if there is to be one.

I'm getting impatient! I've been ready to pull the trigger on a domestic release of this for a while, and I'm still waiting!

Bring it on!

Wow, current price $40! What was the list price of the original FTD release? I think it was around $200 - but, of course, the mammoth book would have been a factor in the price.
