If you're not nice
I've updated Renny's post with the info that's currently out there. Will replace the link with a real one once Amazon lists this -- WAN assumes that there will be a domestic release, and hopefully not just vinyl.

just sitting here thinking:
neil young is releasing 10 single albums, 1 double album, and a supposed multiple album set (archives, unreleased material is unknown) in the next few months.....and only 3 new songs (that are actually very old songs ) in the entire 12....and we are clamoring for it all.
the man is a marketing genius (or eliot roberts is) or they both are

Or we're a bunch of fools who keep buying the "improved" version of the same product over & over! (I include myself in that statement!)

I've heard that Neil Young might be even better than The Monkees.

I would agree with that rumor............ I think!

What would Monkee wanna-be Stephen Stills say about that?

That he (& music fans everywhere) got very lucky that he was turned down! We would have lost so much great music from Stills if he'd been a prefab 4. The Monkees were amusing when I was 10 years old; but they're not even in the same book as CSNY & off shoots.

The fact remains that Stephen Stills wasn't good enough for The Monkees. It's Don Kirshner's word against Jann Wenner's.

That's a tough one Linda (or is it?). I think that I'll have to go with Don though. He doesn't rule over some sham, dopey, fake phony fraud hall of fame. A major plus for him.

Of course, neither did the Motown groups or many other vocal groups such as the Mamas and the Papas, doo wop groups, etc. Not to mention Linda Ronstadt, Joe Cocker, etc.

Brian Wilson used session musicians on his greatest productions for The Beach Boys. Nobody (except maybe Renny) would accuse Brian of not being a serious artist.
