Listening to the cd. I don't know what was put up for the official samples Linda shared, but this has MUCH better sound. On the down side, the tenny bopper screaming is still way too loud. And that appears to be a mixing decision; I can hear the pots for scream track going up & down!

I think the screaming is perfect, and they play and sing their asses off. They may have been out of tune and time and mailed it in later on, but not on these recordings. I'm really enjoying this, much more than I thought I would. Kudos to Giles and all who worked on it.

Mine came today as well. It's on top of list for tomorrow's night listening session. I always really liked this record, the excitement and energy just envelopes you.

I agree, good performances. I just don't enjoy the screaming.

Again, it's a Beatles concert. Taking the screaming out would give you an incomplete experience.

To quote George Martin in the original liner notes, "It was not just the voice of the Beatles; it was the expression of the young people of the world."
Muting those screams minimizes the Beatles experience of 1964/65.

It's unfortunate out of all the great video & audio footage of 60s bands performing live on shows such as old grey whistle test, those great German music TV shows and numerous others we find the Beatles missed all that. All there is 'mostly' is these early 1960s shows with constant screaming. Imagine live 'in studio' versions of songs from Sgt. Pepper or White Album played to a quite respectful audience. I won't be getting this album as I'm more into the later career of Beatles.

I've never heard this much screaming on any other official release. It's about the miking & mixing, not about the audience.
I wouldn't bet on that! It's "Beatlemania" my friend. Never, ever did a band cause this much excitement before them.

Not that I like him (I do not); but check out young Frank Sinatra videos.
Even when his declining health had a noticable impact on his performances (circa 1975-77) soundboard recordings of Elvis indicate that he never lost his ability to make women hysterical.
