The purist in me wishes they'd reissue the original 1977 album.

On the other hand, this is great that finally, finally, we're getting this.

I have a good quality boot of the original, so I guess making do with this will be pretty darn cool.

Listening to the cd. I don't know what was put up for the official samples Linda shared, but this has MUCH better sound. On the down side, the tenny bopper screaming is still way too loud. And that appears to be a mixing decision; I can hear the pots for scream track going up & down!

I think the screaming is perfect, and they play and sing their asses off.
They may have been out of tune and time and mailed it in later on, but not on these recordings.
I'm really enjoying this, much more than I thought I would.
Kudos to Giles and all who worked on it.

Mine came today as well. It's on top of list for tomorrow's night listening session. I always really liked this record, the excitement and energy just envelopes you.

I agree, good performances. I just don't enjoy the screaming.

Loving it so far. Amazing job by Giles. Feels like you're on stage with them.

Again, it's a Beatles concert. Taking the screaming out would give you an incomplete experience.

To quote George Martin in the original liner notes, "It was not just the voice of the Beatles; it was the expression of the young people of the world."

Muting those screams minimizes the Beatles experience of 1964/65.

Where's the cheapest place to pick up this CD--Target? Best Buy? Walmart?

A Keith Jarrett live CD would work much better for those who prefer a quiet audience.

An insert inside the CD booklet reports that the movie will be available on Blu-ray and DVD in November. Hoping it's chockfull of extras.

I've never heard this much screaming on any other official release. It's about the miking & mixing, not about the audience.

You don't own any Linkin Park albums?

It's unfortunate out of all the great video & audio footage of 60s bands performing live on shows such as old grey whistle test, those great German music TV shows and numerous others we find the Beatles missed all that.
All there is 'mostly' is these early 1960s shows with constant screaming.
Imagine live 'in studio' versions of songs from Sgt. Pepper or White Album played to a quite respectful audience.
I won't be getting this album as I'm more into the later career of Beatles.

This (along with "Hey Jude" from the same session) is the kind of later Beatles video performance I also wish there were a lot more of:

I wouldn't bet on that! It's "Beatlemania" my friend. Never, ever did a band cause this much excitement before them.

The Beatles' appearances on Ed Sullivan look and sound great, especially on the Apple-approved DVD The First US Visit.

Not that I like him (I do not); but check out young Frank Sinatra videos.

Oh I know, my Mom attended those Bobby-sox shows. The Hollywood Bowl is alittle bigger than the Paramount in Brooklyn.

Even when his declining health had a noticable impact on his performances (circa 1975-77) soundboard recordings of Elvis indicate that he never lost his ability to make women hysterical.
