The "Portraits" box needs an overhaul! It was one of the first brickwalled releases I ran into. I have no idea what the "DR" is, I just remember my ears telling me it sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard.
That said, the only rarity I remember being on the box was the superb Hearts & Crafts (The best song (not) on Innocent Age).
So, I would personally only consider this if CD #1 has rarities, as I am 100% catalog; & I have either Japanese Mini LP's &/or BGO's on all of my favorites. (Home Free - Innocent Age)

It's awful.
Agree. Not sure what the deal is with Real Gone. They do a fantastic job content-wise, but their cover art (with rare exception) has been consistently horrible. They really need to get a better graphic designer.

With Vic A, I'd buy this for one song if Hearts & Crafts (his only b-side that I know of & a great song; it was on the brickwalled box set) was on here; but it isn't. And I've already got nice UK & Japan import remasters of Home Free, Souvenirs, Captured Angel, Netherlands, Phoenix, Twin Sons, & Innocent Age (With Innocent Age, fyi: the Japan Mini LP sucks; buy the BGO).
I GUESS if it turns up really cheap, I could use upgrades of Tuscon Arizona, Make Love Stay & Missing You; but it would have to be cheap for 3 songs...... Though I THINK I could then sell my box set which seems to be going for big money; so that may actually make this a worthwhile purchase (DAMN, why did they leave Hearts & Crafts off?? GRRRRRRR!)
Of course this is way cheaper; but imo his first 4 albums are the truly essential ones; & one can buy two BGO 2 cd sets for only a bit more then this.

Nothing from Captured Angel? Really?
many fail realize that fogelberg played and sang every single note on 'captured angel" except for the drums.'''
IMHO 'captured angel' is one of the most, if the most, underrated album of any artist ever. almost perfect.
Agree on both. In fact, DF inspired me to try to do the same as a young adult on a 6 track. Unfortunately, I caved to a girlfriend's complaining that II never left my home studio, so i didn't finish it. I at least left the girlfriend eventually.
