Description
Richie Furay has written and sung some of Americana's biggest songs including Buffalo Springfield's Kind Woman, Sad Memory, Good Time Boy, Sit Down I Think I Love You, and Do I Have to Come Right Out and Say It; Poco's Pickin Up The Pieces, C'mon, and A Good Feelin' to Know; as well as Souther Hillman Furay's Fallin' in Love.

After leaving Souther Hilman Furay, Richie went on a spiritual journey which led him in 1983 to became senior pastor of the Calvary Chapel in Broomfield, Colorado, a non-sectarian Christian church in the Denver area. Richie continued to tour with his own band and also carved out a very successful career in Christian Music.

Today Hand In Hand finds that Richie is back to his Americana routes, as he was just elected into the Colorado Music Hall Of Fame. His new album features the lead single We Were The Dreamers, which takes the listener back to Richie's days fronting Poco. The album also features Keb' Mo' on the song Someday, with guest vocals by Neil Young and Kenny Loggins on Kind Woman.

Tracklist
1. We Were The Dreamers
2. Hand In Hand
3. Don't Lose Heart
4. Don't Tread On Me
5. Wind Of Change
6. SomeDay (feat. Keb Mo)
7. Love At First Sight
8. Let It Slide
9. Still Fine
10. Kind Woman (feat. Neil Young & Kenny Loggins)
11. A Good Feeling To Know Live
12. Love At First Sight (feat. Jesse Furay Lynch)

let's hope he doesn't pull the stunt he did with his live album and re-release in a couple of months with more songs.

Agreed. Liking this a lot. The songs are strong, and Richie's voice is excellent. Sounds like a long lost 70's album.

and little, if any, preaching (although i really didn't listen to the lyrics all that closely.

the first song is about the buffalo springfield and is worth he price of the album alone....it's that good.

We Were The Dreamers is actually about Poco. Saw Richie last month and agree with all of the above. Hope his management gets him on one of the late night shows - he's got the songs. The title track is another standout.

Just got off the phone with Richie Furay for my book-what a total gentleman, and very funny.

We talked about Buffalo Springfield in depth (such great stories he told me), every Poco album he was on, Souther-Hillman-Furay Band, his solo career, Neil Young and the Buffalo Springfield reunion and this new album of Richie's which is one of his very best.

He was beyond flattered I asked him to be in the book, but I told him rhythm and acoustic players mean as much me to as lead guitarists since that's all I am and I listen for certain things. I think he's an excellent rhythm and acoustic (6 and 12 string player) and his singing and writing is of course fantastic.

It was a great moment for me to talk with him.

I was thinking of you Renny and the other Buffalo Springfield and Poco fans when I was talking to him.

He was really flattered to be a part of the book. I'd love to get Rusty Young as well (amazing, amazing player), but I'm just about done finally.

Ah, the stories Richie told me. I mean, some of them have been told before a little bit, but I always try to talk about subjects that haven't been beaten to death.

And, let's just say that Richie gets as frustrated with Neil Young as we do ha ha.

Richie is also overwhelmed with the response to his new album, and you guys contributed!

On 1st listen. I have to agree with others here; this is quite good.

This is the first post-Poco Furay I've ever liked. I may need to revisit the 70's solo albums & the Souther-Hillman-Furay albums. I played them all when they came out in the 70's, & didn't like a one. After hearing this, I am thinking I need to give at least a couple a fresh listen.

Ok...coming from a point of no deep appreciation of the man...other than being from b.s....I just ordered based on the collective rapture...no doubt I will be very pleased...as I have been over and over again from recommendations from you all.

I may not participate often...but I am a constant wallflower here...

I picked this up on my fellow IMWANer's recommendations. Excellent! It's nice to be in the company of people with such good taste in music.
