That's too bad. Maybe he should have considered an "unwrapped" like the ones that DC have been putting out. That would be cool.
I have long wanted to read Dragon, but wasn't sure when a good jumping on point would be. That's why I've been waiting for this particular collection. I also prefer the hardcovers.
I might just go ahead and get the 1st paperback archive. I will get twice as many issues anyway.
IMO, Larsen's art doesn't translate as well to black and white as guys like Kirby, Ditko, etc. -- it's just a little too rough, IMO. I think color is worth it.
Also, Jay -- when you get the floppies, be sure to read the letters' columns in the first 50 issues, more or less. They were pretty good, and there was a long, pissy debate via letter between Larsen and PAD in those issues.
