He was so great at the R&R HOF induction ceremony that I've jumped on the pre-order in hopes of landing tickets for the NYC show at the Beacon. Only 5 shows currently listed at Ticketmaster: Boston, NY, Chicago, SF, and LA.

I'd like to see him play live and I'm not afraid to travel somewhat for concerts (Hell, I'm going to London to see Kate Bush), but the closest show to me is Chicago, which is 6 hours away, so I doubt I'll go to this show. You folks in the big cities are luckier than us in the hinterlands.

Lately I've been paying a fortune for concerts.....Steely Dan $150 X2 (my wife attended), King Crimson $150, Allan Holdsworth $95, Fleetwood Mac $150 X2 (as my wife is going too).

$258 for Cat Stevens at the Beacon! Wait a minute, didn't he give all his money away when he converted to be a Muslim. I guess he decided that was not such a good move, at least the money part.

Yeah, but you have been working major OT all summer long. Go for experience and the life long memories.

Does anyone know where the preorder for the Cat Stevens show at The Beacon Theater is? The Ticketmaster page for that event doesn't exist anymore. It just says "Sorry, but this event no longer exists in our database." It's also not listed at the Beacon Theater website. I know it's a longshot that the code I received for preordering his new album will actually help me get tickets but I want to at least have a shot. I believe they pre-sales for all US shows are supposed to take place tomorrow &/or Thursday.

In LA, our tickets are through AXS. Did you check that site?

Sorry about that. Just looked and it doesn't look like Beacon is there

It's cancelled. The Boston date is now on December 7th.

"Unfortunately I will not be performing in NYC this time around but I am looking forward to playing for fans in Philadelphia on December 4 and hope to return to NYC at a future date. My fans will understand and I thank them for informing me about the extortionate tickets prices already being listed on some websites. I have been a longtime supporter of paperless tickets to my shows worldwide and avoiding scalpers. Unfortunately NY has a state law that requires all tickets sold for shows in NYC to be paper, enabling them to be bought and sold at inflated prices. I'm sorry about not being able to now play in NYC but hope to find an opportunity that aligns with my support of this issue in the near future, God willing. Looks like the Peace Train is going to arrive at New York a little bit later than expected.” - Yusuf

Damn! I was primed to try for tix today.
Me too. I had my Amazon code all ready, and I even verified my Ticketmaster password since I hadn't used that service in a long time. I was pumped up for this show.

I was talking to a friend at work today and turns out he is a big Cat Stevens fan and it turns out the Philly show went on sale this morning so he said go try but no luck.....tried for over an hour. Maybe he should add a date now that NYC is a no go.

Ok I tried and failed for Philly (supposedly they sold out in 5 minutes) but my friend at work who is persistent tried for Boston and got 2 so I'm seeing Cat Stevens in December! Crazy.

My partner at work confirmed the plans today by getting a hotel room right in the theater district in Boston so we are all set for the December show. Never in a million years did I think I would see Cat Stevens. I remember playing his greatest hits ad nauseam in my room in the early 70s.
