Has anybody outside the UK seen this TV show? I haven't seen it either, but apparently, it has a following in the U.S. judging by this:

Which is a reference to this commercial on the show about the new emergency phone number replacing "999". (Britain's "911".)

It has a cult following here in the states. We're learning a new computer program at my job and the instructor played an IT Crowd clip in one of our classes.

It's hilarious sitcom. You can stream the 4 seasons on Netflix now. The 2013 finale special isn't available to stream yet, but I'm sure it will eventually.

Some of my students suggested I watch it, so I bought and found the first season to be rather meh.

I did see a later season show, though, which I thought was pretty funny.

IT Crowd is an awesome show. They shot a US pilot remake for it years ago.

I know the creators said they made a mistake by putting them in the basement, which is why starting in the second series they're always out and about.

The second boss is also a lot funnier, even if he does sometimes overwhelming.

I didn't like it at first but it grew on me quite a bit. I grew to really LOVE Richard Ayoade in everything and he was one of my dream pics for the new Doctor before they announced Capaldi.

I've watched the British pilot episode, and I'm wondering why this guy isn't in the TARDIS.

Half of the people I work with (myself included) will, when suggesting a reboot, say "Have you turned it off and on again?" in an Irish accent.

Although BBC selected Peter Capaldi to succeed Matt Smith, I think Richard Ayoade would have been great as Doctor Who. But God help the universe or anyone in the TARDIS if his Doctor was anything like his character Moss.

"Alright, I've found my sonic screwdriver and it's on. That means I walk away..."

Fortunately for his Doctor, the TARDIS is NOT made in Britain!

There's going to be a new Richard Ayoade film coming out this year, but you won't see him when it comes out. He's working behind the camera as writer and director:

I know he did that at least once before and I wanted to check it out. I have no idea how he is at this point as a director but I'd like to find out.

and yeah I definitely wouldn't want Ayode playing Moss as the doctor. hah I think I've seen him do enough different stuff at this point to kind of have an idea at least of how I would have liked him to play it and I think it could have been quite fun. Not that we'll ever know and that's okay cause I'm really excited about Capaldi too. :)

My favorite Richard Ayoade character is Ned "Keep It Foolish" Smanks, one of the Idiot Minions on Nathan Barley.

I like him in Mighty Boosh and did before I knew who he was. Even after seeing the IT Crowd I was shocked that was him. Miss Potts had to point it out to me. He was playing such a different character with such different body language that I didn't even think to make the connection.
