If you're not nice
Amazon lists the big Sound System box, a separate 5-CD box set (just the remastered original albums in mini LP sleeve packaging) and a placemarker (not yet pre-orderable) for the 2-CD hits compilation. Links added above.

$290 is too much, and even with price drops closer to release date, it probably won't go below $200
This. It's kind of ironic that The Clash always strove to make their original releases affordable, even when they were releasing two and three-album sets. I wonder what Joe Strummer would have made of all of this?

I wish it weren't so much...but it might be a must-have. Even discounting the bonus materials, all my Clash was on cassette or LP, and I have no way to play either anymore (nor do I have the tapes or records anymore!)

Need to see the complete tracklist versus the previous remasters before I make any decisions here... maybe I'll get to sell off the singles box to soften the blow.

If it were not for the fact he was cremated, Joe would certainly be spinning in his grave.

Living on the edge.
Looks cool, but no way I spend that much.

Still a little much for me, but I'll see if they lower it later.
This may be a case where I look at Import CDs again........(they're not listing it yet)
It'll likely come out a little cheaper, even adding in shipping (minus the VAT).

Tracks 11,12, 13 and 15 on disc 10 are new to me. I have all the Remasters (including the 1st album in UK and US versions), Clash On Broadway, The original Black Market Clash on NuDisc and a Canadian CD release, The 2 Live releases: Shea Stadium and From Here To Eternity, 1977 Revisited, and The Singles Box. Unless these tracks are hidden on a couple of the Singles discs, I have never seen them on CD. Disc 11 seems to be all unreleased but I wonder what the sound quality is like. It looks like most of the stuff on the DVD has been on the 4 DVD's that have been released through the years. This is a real gut check for me. I love The Clash. I was lucky enough to see them live 5 times including the chaos at Bond. Dropping $150+ on this for what looks to be 1 disc of unreleased material and a bunch of tchotchke just plain reeks. I have to draw the line somewhere.
