Swamp Thing. Not just because of Alan Moore (though that helped). I liked the Wein/Wrightson stuff, and the most recent Snyder/Paquette/etc run, too.

Technically the Creature From the Black Lagoon is a swamp creature, so I'd go with him. Even though he does have a record of harassing Arkansas girls.

Pogo lives in the Okefenokee swamp,which is in Georgia.

BTW, the comment about the Creature From the Black Lagoon harassing Arkansas girls is based on the fact that Julia Adams grew up in Little Rock.

Oy. That does look pretty awful.
But I do feel like Alan Moore's run was so good that it outweighs any of the bad versions of the character.
