Swamp Thing. Not just because of Alan Moore (though that helped). I liked the Wein/Wrightson stuff, and the most recent Snyder/Paquette/etc run, too.

I'm glad that you included Solomon Grundy.

AND, I voted for him. But mainly because I think Swamp Thing
will shamble away with this one even without my vote for him.

I always love to see Theodore Sturgeon's name on any list, but in this case, it will always be Swamp Thing for me.

Technically the Creature From the Black Lagoon is a swamp creature, so I'd go with him. Even though he does have a record of harassing Arkansas girls.

Swamp Thing has the best comics that have been written about him. But I like the premise of Man-Thing more.

Yeah, me too.

But Swamp Thing also has more crappy comics written about him than Man-Thing does.

Pogo lives in the Okefenokee swamp, which is in Georgia.
Neat trick, his being able to harass Arkansas girls all the way from there...

Ooooooo, good one! Though again, he reputedly gave people a lot of trouble in my home state.

BTW, the comment about the Creature From the Black Lagoon harassing Arkansas girls is based on the fact that Julia Adams grew up in Little Rock.

Oy. That does look pretty awful.
But I do feel like Alan Moore's run was so good that it outweighs any of the bad versions of the character.

The worst thing about that cover is the crappy logo appearing twice.

This is the single greatest cover ever produced.

Not really, but.....I still want to read that comic.
