I've been trying to avoid live albums unless they're essential, and this one definitely falls into that category. Seconds Of Pleasure and the various Lowe & Edmunds albums from this era are consistently great.

Just open my wallet and take what you want. Too bad Eagle Rock is deviating from the normal pattern: Issue the DVD, followed months later by the audio equivilent. No matter - this is an absolute purchase.

Another Rockpile live show just became available. Wolfgang's Vault has a mp3 and a flac version of Rockpile live at the Heatwave Festival 8/23/1980 available for download.

Does it sound as bad as a typical audience recording? I don't mind soundboard stuff, but I can't bring myself to listen to audience recordings regardless of the artist.

To me the tunes that Edmunds sings lead are alot clearer. The tunes that have Nick Lowe singing lead have him a little buried in the mix. Still one top notch band.

It sounds like a soundboard. It is pretty listenable, but makes one think there are better live recordings for these guys. The live cuts ob the Seconds of Pleasure reissue sound much better than this.
