Don't do it. The thing you can't fully appreciate until you get one is just how much stuff it takes to make juice. Like, how many fruits and vegetables that thing has to chew up to make one thimble of juice.
But other than that, mankind has perfected the juicer. They work well, and they're not to bad to clean.

Bannings? We don't need no stinkin' bannings!
Is a "juicer" an appliance for squeezing the juice out of things so that you can drink it, or is a "juicer" code for an appliance that will purée all manner of food so that you can substitute electrical energy and a thing cunningly constructed from plastic, metal, and the sweaty labor of Asian workers for the act of chewing?

which is a slower, more quiet auger type, masticating juicer, which would involve more manual cutting, but which one also grind up leafy stuff muc better. Plus, it produces less air in the juice, which allows the juice to maintain its nutrient qualities longer.

Both models would get about a cup of juice from a pound of carrots. And yes, while that's not a lot of juice, it would be quality juice, and I like juice.
Then see how much juice you actually get out of it. Factor in that an electrical one is more efficient, but it should still give you a decent idea of how much fruit you need per glass of juice.

Which, seems like quite a lot if you're used to only buying about a pound of carrots a week. With an everyday juicer, you'd be buying like 15 pounds, and throwing most of it away.

After about three weeks, the buying of huge quantities of vegetables, only to send them to a humiliating death, begins to wear on you. Once the new wears off, it just seems like ton of fruits and vegetables going to waste (both money, and the fiber and nutrition in the structural elements).
Then, the murderous impulses set in. And you can hear the vegetables screaming.
