Saw this trailer a couple of weeks ago; really looking forward to it! This one and Harry Potter are the only films left this year that I really want to see in the theater.

I've not seen the Narnia movies. Loved the books growing up. Voyage of the Dawn Treader was my first and probably still favorite.

I think Christmas release will work much better.
I believe summer release hurt the second film, which was a good film.
Agreed. I think following the LotR model was the way to go. Much less competition and I think kids and families are ready for epic fanasy in the winter (don't ask me why I think that... gut feeling).

I think I'm just too old for that material... I thought it was well done for what it was though. Would have loved it when I was 8 and reading the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in school.

Agree. I did see the first one with the kids a few years ago but even they have grown up and out of that age range. The first one was a good family movie but I avoided the second and won't see the third.

I love fantasy adventure but for some reason these just don't click with me. Didn't dig the books as a kid, thought the first film was OK, but never saw the second. I was surprised when I saw this trailer for the third as I was under the impression that the franchise was dead for some reason.

I shoudl also note I'm lukewarm to Lord of the Rings, so I just may not like the trappings of fantasy adventure.
I feel the same way about the LOTR movie adaptations--of a novel I love. It's one reason I've not been in a hurry to watch any Narnia movies. I think they COULD make great movies, but today's style of blockbuster filmmaking is just too bloated, too loud, and too overdone for a literary classic to come through intact.

It nearly died as the second movie didn't make as much money, but they changed their minds.
