If you are looking for a live CD with pristine sound then dont buy this. This is an audience tape from the Marquee back in Dec 1978, complete with a German couple occasionally chatting together. The sleevenotes do mention this, however there is nothing on the cover to warn buyers that what you are getting here is an ok-ish (for 1978) bootleg quality recording. What you are also getting, however is a recording of the night a certain guitarist known to dress in black joined his old mucker on stage for the encore. Don't expect too much in the way of magic, however for Deep Purple, Gillan & Blackmore fans it is likely to be of historic interest (unless they already have a bootleg copy, that is). It's a shame there is no Abbey of Thelema as the tape disintegrated, however you do get to hear Ian Gillan in full flow before he started to get throat problems and lost the ability to do justice to Child In Time. Had the sound been soundboard quality this would have got a 5.
