I think my favorite Weird Al song is "The Saga Begins". He did damn fine job encapsulating the entire Phantom Menace movie into five and half minutes.

Just out of curiosity, what is everyone's favorite original Weird Al song?

Tough to say. I really dig "Velvet Elvis", but then I also really like "One More Minute". "Christmas At Ground Zero" is a holiday staple here at Casa del Saxon but I guess my all-time fave original work by Al is IMWAN's very own theme song: "Dare To Be Stupid".

There is one original song Al wrote which I've been listening to over and over again: Why Does This Always Happen To Me?. Sad to say, but there have been times I have been as self-centered as the protagonist of that song...

"One More Minute" is his all-time best song. I'm also partial to "You Don't Love Me Anymore" and "When I Was Your Age" among originals.
As far as parodies and style parodies, I like some of the newer stuff, but you can't go wrong with the classics. "Dare To Be Stupid", "I Lost On Jeopardy", "Fat", "Eat It"...

One More Minute is the clear winner, but I'm also partial to Nature Trail To Hell (In 3-D).

"I'd rather clean all the toilets in Grand Central Station......With my tongue, then spend one more minute with you." What, no love for the "Theme to Rocky XIII"?

T2R13 ("Rye Or The Kaiser") is not a "Weird Al" original.

"The Night Santa Went Crazy" is a yule-tide favorite of my girls and I. You can't celebrate X-Mas without singing it a few times!
"Gump" and "Headline News" have always been my personal favs tho'. And for the sake of semantics, my fav original would be "Nature Trail to Hell in 3-D."

I learned the words to One More Minute within minutes of hearing it for the first time. This Is The Life is a distant second.

"One More Minute" is awesome, but nothing compares to "Dare To Be Stupid."

I've always preferred Al's rapid fire polka medleys over his parodies (which are usually very good).

I like the "Brady Bunch Theme" sung to the tune of "The Safety Dance."

"Amish Paradise." I was in tears from laughing so hard the first time I heard it, and it's still a favorite.

"One More Minute" is great. Easily my favorite of his original tracks.
I am also partial to "Bob", "This is the Life", "Dare To Be Stupid" and "Everything You Know Is Wrong".
"Albuquerque" is brilliant.
Of his lyrical parodies, "Yoda" still remains my favorite.

"One More Minute" for an original, "Another One Rides The Bus" or "My Bologna" for a parody (I'm frigging old - I have AORTB on 45 from when it was new), and a major plus one for his polka medleys. I always said that the medleys would be the thing that made me buy one of his albums.
Back in the early 80s, I saw Weird Al with Dr. Demento live. Dr. D played bit of "We Are The Worms", a "We Are The World" parody that he said he played once on his show before he got a cease and desist order. I happened to be rolling tape that night. (Also managed to get a recording of "Existential Blues" before they had to take out the "To dream the impossible dream" bit.) My favorite bit of the night was Al saying "I want to introduce some member of the band", then introducing the band to each other. 25 years later, I still laugh about that.

Weird Al is a genius. I agree with Ven, "Amish Paradise" had me literally laughing out loud first time; when they got to the Gilligan passage I nearly wet myself.
"Dare to Be Stupid" is the best DEVO song they never wrote themselves.
At one Weird Al show I attended, he sat on a stool and read Green Eggs and Ham, totally deadpan, to the tune of U2's "Numb." Utter brilliance.
