I had that exact screen, until I discovered that "Internet Connection" button took me to the World Wide Web. I started using only that, and within 2 months I cancelled AOL and got Netscape.

Linda, I remember back in the '90s my kid brother took me to the local library to introduce me to the internet. Well, I typed in "Jack Kirby" and "Phil Spector" and got nothing. So I didn't subscribe to the net before 2003 or 2004, and then in 2005 I joined ICE.

I dont think i went on until at least 1996. I looked up a ton of stuff and then said "well, that was nice. no other point to this. how much Don mattingly stuff can i read?"
didnt start using it semi-regularly to 99ish. Didn't use it Daily until 2002.

I forget the name of it, but I was on some BBS via the Commodore 64 in 1986 as well. Then there was "uxa" in college a couple of years later.
Ah, the early days. Pre-high-speed. Pre-porn. Pre-WAN.

BITNet was one of the nets that linked into the internet. became .edu I think
there was chat back then.. they called it the Relay, and it morphed into IRC.
