Yes again. Seems like its done for real this time. but perhaps, a backup feature?

Quote:
I was informed earlier this week that our last issue will be AMAZING SPIDER-GIRL #30.

On the good news front, there is talk that Spider-Girl will become a regular 16-paged feature in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN FAMILY. (I've been told conflicting things about MR & MRS so I don't know if that feature will continue.)

To those who predicted that SPIDER-GIRL would never last, you were right. (You were off by a little over 11 years, but you were right.)

I'll give you guys more news as I hear it.

Tom D.

Ah well. I knew it was too good to last more than 11 or 12 years.

I thought Spider-Girl was an IMWAN meme, like Enterprise. It was really good?

I enjoyed it, although I admit I dropped it several months ago (along with everything else).

Well that sucks, I was enjoying it. It's one of the books I look forward to every month, I guess I'll save some money this way.....

With the American Dream mini earlier this year I thought that they were trying to push the M2 universe a little bit. If we are lucky they will put out some kind of M2 quarterly or something to keep the universe alive at least.

I'm very disappointed. We need more female superhoros... there just aren't enough good ones, IMHO. :sigh:

Of course, I'm still just getting into reading comics...so maybe I am just not aware of them yet. :ohyes:

So cancel the book but use it as a back-up in Spider-man Family so you can sell more of that, that's a good plan. Hope it works for them, I won't be spending an extra dollar every month to read a shorter Spider-Girl story, sorry.

Correct that, $2 more for Spiderman Family, and 6 less pages of story for Spider-Girl. Nope, won't be picking it up.

What are the good/popular female superheroes these days?

There is Wonder Woman of course (although I have never had any interest in her as a charachter and have only enjoyed spots of her comic here and there).

She-Hulk seems to really be only a major cult favorite level charachter at best, and not really BIG big time.

Ms Marvel has some strong potential, but they have only recently started tapping into it, and not doing a particularly impressive job on her book.

Storm got a recent push as she was paired with the Black Panther a little while ago (and I can just imagine the feminist crap that must have kicked up), but she doesn't seem to be really portrayed quite up to her potential strenghts as a charachter regularly enough.

Hawkgirl carried her own series without her male counterpart for a little while, and gained lightyears worth of popularity in relation to what she was before the cartoon.

Black Canary puzzles me as she seems to have been right there on the fringe of potential to break through for a long time, but never seemed to get the right push at the right time.

Invisible Woman is the PERFECT ensamble charachter, and the team would be ruined (I think anyway) if they tried to make her bigger than the group.

I am so-so with Oracle. I thoroughly enjoy the charachter in her current incarnation, but trying to make her a bigger property just doesn't seem to fit to me.

Who am I forgetting about?
