That's a comic book show that's happening in Ashland, KY on Nov. 16th. It's the third time the show will be held, and so far, it's been pretty small and lightly attended. It is in a small town that doesn't even have a comic shop, afterall. I'm not the one putting it on, but I do set up as a dealer there, and this time, I'm helping out with the promotion and planning. To that end, I've recruited Beau Smith and Wayne Osborne as a guests. Beau lives right near there, and he's one of my myspace friends, so I asked and he said sure. Wayne is not far away either, so he said okey-dokey. Wayne tells me that the release of the FX tpb may coincide with the timing of the show. If anyone is anywhere near there, come on over. I think Wayne and I are the only ones here within a comfortable drive of Ashland, KY, but I'm not really sure. Anyone else that frequents other website where comic book fans congregate, buzz this link around. I'd appreciate it. http://www.network54.com/Forum/616945/PS: The show is still three months away, so some sticky love sometime in October might be nice.

Hey Dave, I'm a five-hour drive from there. I may be interested in coming down as a guest (if you'll have me) or just to see you and Wayne.
Are you going to be at Mid Ohio and/or Screaming Tiki this year?

If it was up to me, you could come as a guest Steve, but I'm not running this, just kinda helping promote it. I'll ask though and let you know. I won't be at the Tiki, but I'll be at MOC. Last time I saw Wayne, he said he was going to get a booth at MOC. I didn't see his name on the guest list yet though. What's happening with that Wayne?

Dave - thanks for the heads up. Aboout Mid-Ohio, James said he'd give me a table and I've filled out the application and sent it in but haven't heard back from him yet. I'll check on that this weekend.
But I'll be at Mid Ohio for sure and Ashland too.
Thanks again.

WO You should have received a confirmation mass e-mail over the weekend, so definitely check with James as things may have gone awry. I will also have a table at MOC so I will see you there! Will the FX trade be out by then? If not, put me down for all the individual issues.

Don't forget to bring me an FX hat, Wayne. Someone in the MOC thread across the street asked about a hat too. BTW, you should bring some of the FX original art. Fans would probably dig looking at that. I know I would.

That FX hat looked sweet, I'm officially jealous of everyone who has one......

This is about a 3 hour drive for me. Is there anything around Ashland that I could turn this into a family weekend, like a state park or something? Also, how small is small?

If you're coming from the west, like say, from Lexington or points west, you will pass by Carter Caves state park in Olive Hill, which is pretty cool. That time of year, I'm not sure how many caves you can check out. A couple will be closed because of the thousands of bats that will be hibernating in there, but I'm sure there's other stuff to do. http://parks.ky.gov/findparks/resortparks/cc/There is Wayne National Forest across the Ohio River from Ashland, but I don't know what there is to do there that doesn't involve ATV's. Small town means pop. 50,000 or less, but there is a nice little mall next door to the show, Ashland Town Center, plenty of restaurants, a cinema, Paramount Arts Center just down the street, with Loretta Lynn in concert the friday before the show. http://www.paramountartscenter.com/Small SHOW means there will be about 8-12 dealers with comics, some toys, maybe some non-sports cards, maybe 100+ people show up, and Wayne and Beau Smith will be there, and there's another small press artist from Cincinnati whose name escapes me, but he'll be there too. Last time, there was a local caricature artist that set up too, so maybe she'll be there again.

Thanks Dave. We're going to Carter Caves this weekend, coincidentally, so I doubt they'd be up for going there again in a month. I'll see what we're up to though, maybe I can get it together. It'd be nice to meet you and Wayne.

I just saw news that the new TPB for FX is out this week, so Wayne should have them at the show this sunday.
