Gail is the master manipulator of the music world. Why, Oh why can't they just tell us what's on this release.

This might be a Beefheart show, who I can't stand - his voice just grates my ears. Shame too, as the band is great at this time with Duke, Bozzio, and Tom Fowler.

Later that night ...
There's some confirmation on the Zappa site forums as to some of the group on this: FZ, Bozzio, Estrada, Andre Lewis, so it seems to be post-Beefheart and roughly summer '75. I may have to snag this now ....

I'd love to see a complete Zappa/Beefheart show released....esp. the Austin TX show. Bongo Fury is a personal favorite album (I know I'm in the minority).

I'll buy this regardless.

I too love the 75 Beefheart band (saw them in New Haven) but I am hoping it is the summer band that never made it out of rehearsals

The Mothers Of Invention:
(only rehearsals)
FZ--guitar, vocals
Robert "Frog" Camarena--guitar, vocals
Denny Walley--slide guitar, vocals
Novi Novog--viola
Napoleon Murphy Brock--sax, vocals
Roy Estrada--bass, vocals
Terry Bozzio--drums, vocals

Or it could be the fall 75 touring band with Andre Lewis

What I do know is the sound sample (see above) is great!

I took the same day delivery...I will post a track list when I get it (along with all the details)

the contents are revealed...

Next in the corsaga comes Joe’s Menage, recorded in concert at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA on 1 November 1975. It features FZ (guitar and vocals), Norma Jean Bell (alto saxophone and vocals), Napoleon Murphy Brock (tenor saxophone and vocals), Andre Lewis (keyboards and vocals), Roy Estrada (bass and vocals), Terry Bozzio (drums). Track list: Honey, Don't You Want a Man Like Me?/The Illinois Enema Bandit/Carolina Hard-core Ecstasy/Lonely Little Girl/Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance/What's The Ugliest Part of Your Body?/Chunga's Revenge/Zoot Allures. The album first germinated when Frank gave fan Ole Lysgaard several cassette tapes, including this one, in 1978. In 2004, Lysgaard sent the tapes to Gail and she decided to release the 1975 music, which was restored and mastered by John Polito. "A thrilling example from a less documented line-up," she says.
