We have that exact same camera system (judging by the menu system and screen shots in the video) for our neighborhood pool and tennis courts. It's a bug. Bugs set off our motion sensor all the freaking time. The reason is because the camera is set to focus on the area several meters away, so a bug flying in front of the lens appears as a much larger, amorphous blob. It will always set off the motion sensor if the bug moves across enough pixels on the screen.

But the thing that gets me is that no one in the news story even considers that as an option! "It could be spirits". What? Really? What's more likely? Option a) probably a bug. Option b) The disembodied souls of dead people retain enough consciousness to float around gyms after hours. Seriously?
