http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/n ... sary-showsZombies to Reunite for Odessey Anniversary Shows
Odessey and Oracle, the blood-coursing, stake-pierced heart of the Zombies' undead catalog, shall walk the earth when four of the original five Zombies-- Colin Blunstone, Rod Argent, Chris White, and Hugh Grundy-- reform to play the entire album through, twice.
Fifth original Zombie and guitarist Paul Atkinson, barring any actual undead activity, will not be present; he passed away in 2004. Keith Airey will round out the fivesome for these special shows, which celebrate Odessey's 40th anniversary.
But that's fuzzy math, you say. Odessey came out in 1968. And indeed, according to Blunstone's website, you'll have the time of the season March 7 and 8 of next year (2008-1968 = 40) at London's Shepherds Bush Empire. Tickets for the bonanza went on sale today.
The concert will be split into two parts; the second, of course, being a run through the gem-packed dynamo, and the first being a cavalcade of classics from other Zombies records, material from Blunstone's solo career, and hits by Rod Argent and Chris White's post-Zombies project, Argent. By hits, we of course mean "Hold Your Head Up".

2008 two CD set. When The Zombies’ original members realized that it was 40 years since the release of their seminal album ‘Odessey & Oracle’, they thought that it would be a great idea to get together again for a special anniversary celebration. So on the 7th, 8th and 9th of March 2008, along with Rod and Colin’s touring band (also known as The Zombies), they played three sell-out gigs at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London to an ecstatic reception. Rod Argent, Colin Blunstone, Chris White and Hugh Grundy took to the stage and played the album for the first time ever. To capture the real sound of this iconic album, with its double-tracked harmonies, overdubbed keyboards and percussion. This double disc set is a recording made of the entire concert on the night of March 8th 2008. Disc One features 14 tracks (the whole album) whilst Disc Two features Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent solo recordings plus other Zombies recordings. Redhouse. Disc: 1 1. Care Of Cell 44 2. http://www.nme.com/news/the-zombies/35012Robert Plant, Paul Weller see The Zombies play classic album
Mar 10, 2008
The Zombies were watched by the likes of Robert Plant and Paul Weller as they played their classic album 'Odessey & Oracle' in full during a three-night stint in London at the weekend (March 7, 8 and 9).
TV presenter Mark Lamarr, Robyn Hitchcock, Tim Rice and members of Snow Patrol and Garbage were also present at the shows, which saw the band play an initial set of rarities and cover versions before the second set saw them tackle the cult 1968 classic before sold-out crowds.
After playing the album, The Zombies completed their set with the classic singles 'Tell Her No' and 'She's Not There'.
The Zombies played:
'I Love You' 'Sticks & Stones' 'Can't Nobody Love You' 'What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted?' 'Misty Roses' 'Her Song' 'Say You Don't Mind' 'Keep On Rolling' 'Hold Your Head Up' 'Care Of Cell 44' 'A Rose For Emily' 'Maybe After He's Gone' 'Beechwood Park' 'Brief Candles' 'Hung Up On A Dream' 'Changes' 'I Want Her, She Wants Me' 'This Will Be Our Year' 'Butcher's Tale' 'Friends Of Mine' 'Time Of The Season' 'Tell Her No' 'She's Not There'

Wonder if they're going to put out a second live album ... http://www.nme.com/news/the-zombies/39864 Zombies to play 'Odessey And Oracle' live for final time
Sep 22, 2008
The Zombies are set to play their 1968 album 'Odessey And Oracle' in its entirety for the last time in the UK next April.
The band, who originally formed in 1961, will play the album at four live dates culminating in a show at the London Hammersmith Apollo on April 25.
'Odessey And Oracle' was the first album by the band not to be classed as a singles compilation or contain cover versions.
The band played the album in full for the first time earlier this year during a three-night stint at London's Shepherds Bush Empire, watched by the likes of Robert Plant, Paul Weller, Snow Patrol and Mark Lamarr.
The Zombies will play:
Glasgow ABC (April 21) Bristol Colston Hall (23) Manchester Bridgewater Hall (24) London Hammersmith Apollo (25)

They had the standard '60s rock reunion variety show on PBS this weekend, and the Zombies did a couple of songs.
Trust me, you do NOT want to see Rod Argent up close. Calling him wrinkled like a prune is an insult to prunes. He looks like a patient in a medical textbook for progeria. Dude looks like he's about 130.
