The Large Hadron Collider at CERN had a big bang of its own when a short circuit melted down two of its magnets and sent a blast of helium into the tunnel that forms the core of it. It will be out of service for weeks. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/u ... 794825.eceThis is why nobody will ever be able to build a doomsday machine. They'd never be able to get the bugs out of it so that it could work!

I hope they've learned their lesson and just walk away. That project is potentially dangerous. And all because they want to prove the origin of the Universe. Everybody knows the heavens were formed from Taft's tummy... sheesh....

And the unions would demand that workers working on Doomsday Machines have safe working conditions, proper health care and retirement plans.

If you buy a Doomsday Machine, do you go for the extended warranty?

Oh, extended warranties are a scam. Just get your machine and go.

That's what I'm thinking.
That goes for sending in the registration card, as well. Livin' on the edge!

I do draw the line at destroying the packaging when opening it (in case of return). They always make a Doomsday Machine so hard to open so you'll be afraid to return it.

I get the feeling you people aren't taking the whole Doomsday Machine thing seriously.

I'm just wondering about the collector's market in years to come. Are these things going to be worth as much as a mint condition Stretch Armstrong?

I was going to build a Doomsday Machine, but I could never decide what color would look best for it. This is why colorblind people will never destroy the world.

Scarfle is a good color for a Doomsday Machine. You can find it on line, I'm sure.

Sure, they can build a Doomsday Machine. But can they make a Stretch Doomsday Machine?
I think not. The arrogance.
