Album Description
This release contains Don McLean's three studio albums from the late 70s/early 80s that brought about his critical and commercial renaissance.

All three albums feature some of McLean's best songwriting alongside his unique renditions of some timeless classics, best illustrated by his worldwide hits with his own "Castles In The Air" and Roy Orbison's "Crying", which reached # 1 in the UK.

The classics include Hank Williams' "Your Cheating Heart", Buddy Holly's "It Doesn't Matter Anymore", Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind", as well as "Love Hurts", "Dream Lover" and "Sea Cruise".

The booklet contains the lyrics to McLean's songs, annotation on all three albums by Don McLean himself, and photos from his own collection.

"Greatest Hits - Live!" (originally a double LP) was recorded at London's Dominion Theatre in October 1980, at the end of the UK tour that accompanied McLean's Number 1 hit "Crying", included here.

Also featured are stunning versions of the hits "Vincent", "Wonderful Baby" and of course "American Pie".

Originally issued in two parts in 1989, "For The Memories" contains McLean's readings of classic songs like "(What A) Wonderful World", "It Had To Be You", "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and many more, accompanied by Elvis Presley's backing vocalists, The Jordanaires. The booklet contains annotation by Don McLean himself.
