I guess KISS fans should also know about the Concert Live CDs being released from the band's current Alive 35 tour. http://www.concertlive.co.uk/Live%20CDs ... %2035.aspx The legendary KISS are back on the road and this time Concert Live are going with them!
KISS live performances are renowned across the globe so it’s with great pleasure and excitement that we’re announcing the KISS Alive 35 limited edition series of live CDs.
With 10 dates being recorded throughout their European tour this is sure to be an exhilarating few weeks with many a memorable performance captured forever.
With hits such as ‘God Gave Rock & Roll To You’, ‘Detroit Rock City’ and ‘Rock & Roll All Night’ echoing above the streets of Europe you will know that KISS are in town so be sure to get your live tour CD to relive the KISS experience over and over again!
This series is strictly limited edition so be sure to bag yours before they go! Don’t miss out!
With a career spanning over 30 years these ground breaking rock and rollers are still going strong with a massive European tour: KISS Alive 2008 under way as we speak!
Forming in 1973 it didn’t take long for their flamboyant live performances to become infamous – fire eating and pyrotechnics a plenty with their face paints and platforms making it impossible not to recognise them.
With hits across the last three decades including ‘I Was Made For Lovin' You’, ‘Detroit Rock City’ and ‘Strutter’ KISS have become a household name with their music featured in movies such as ‘Endless Love’, ‘Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey’ and ‘Dazed and Confused’.
After a brief period in the 80’s without the glam accessories, a nostalgic glam rock resurgence in the 90’s propelled KISS back to their flamboyant ways and into the forefront of the public eye; with hits such as ‘God Gave Rock and Roll To You’ and ‘Rock and Roll All Night’ spawning a whole new KISS generation.
KISS have racked up 34 gold albums to date and over 100 million album sales worldwide, making them a clear super band of the century.
Due to the normal excesses of the rock and roll lifestyle though, their line-up has changed a couple of times with the now legendary Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley being the only two constant members. This aside they are still a force to be reckoned with, churning out the tracks that have made their careers last this long.
We’re more than excited about the prospect of being part of one of the biggest touring bands of our time and look forward to meeting the dedicated KISS Army along the way…

Meh. Give me archive concerts from the 70s and 80s and I'd be all over it. This current lineup does nothing for me,
I've often wondered why bands don't throw up all of their recorded concerts up on the internet for download. If they priced them right, they could make a mint.

You think with Gene $immons' penchant for money, money, money that a slew of KISS Archive CDs and/or downloads would have flooded the marketplace by now. Then again, it took them nearly twenty years to do the KISSology DVDs while bootleggers were making big bucks at record shows and KISS conventions all those years. I don't understand that Chaim Witz sometimes!

Sometimes the pettiness just drives me nuts. Never mind that Ace played songs on his last tour that Gene said Kiss couldn't play because of him. I'd love to have some 70s and 80s shows as well, but this lineup? Not the way they're presenting it. Put the new guys in their own makeup and it's a different story, but to have them 'play' Ace and Peter? Nah. Alan

Alan At this point, I'd be more excited if the makeup-less Revenge lineup did a tour. I was watching the 1992 concert from KISSology and man, that lineup was tight musically. I would rather see archive concerts on CD at this point. I haven't bothered ordering any of these new live CDs myself.

Agreed on both counts - I'd like to see that lineup do some of the "Carnival Of Souls" songs. That, to me, was some of the best stuff Kiss post-makeup. I recently rented a DVD where the brothers Kulick explained some of the songs they played on, and the COS stuff was pretty interesting. It was neat to hear Bob Kulick talk about how he had to play like Ace on some, and how he could be himself on others. The only drawback to archive concerts is how little the set list changed, even in the old days. I'd like to see a sort of tour anthology series - say, two or three 'special' shows from a tour, along with another disc or two that would cover the different songs performed and maybe any special or unique performances from the rest of the tour. But why do that when they can sell Kiss volleyballs? Alan

Nothing really interesting there, IMO. Just the same old songs that have been anthologized to death. It might make a nice souvenier for someone who attended the show, but it would be more interesting if the band would dig deeper into their catalogue and add a few obscurities to the setlist. That isn't likely to happen, as Gene seems to believe (right or wrong) that only a small minority of the fans want to hear those songs.

Gene also made the argument that Ace and Peter couldn't play the old material, and when Thayer replaced Ace, they immediately added a couple old songs that they said they couldn't play before, notably "Love Her All I Can".
Lo and behold, Ace goes on tour, and what's in the set list? "Love Her All I Can". Not sure about Peter, but Ace wasn't the reason they couldn't play the song.
Then again, Gene can't remember the words to songs that have always been in the set, let alone try to learn new ones.

renny Buy a used copy of KISS Alive someday renny and just listen to some old heavy, bombastic glitter rock. If you want to, that is. I have never heard a Neil Young album all the way through either-- unless you count the one and only Neil Young CD I ever bought -- the Greatest Hits from a few years back.
