I thought it was really funny. Best comedy of the year so far, for me.

I thought it was funny too, but it was difficult making out RD Jr at times. The opening trailers were awesome!

I laughed a lot, it was a great skewering of different hollywood types. Loved RDJ's speech about why Simple Jack did not get an Oscar...

I thought it was pretty funny. I didn't think it was genius by any stretch of the imagination, but it was funny.

The two best things in the movie were Robert Downey Jr. saying "That smelled just like baloney for some reason" after taking a piss, and Tom Cruise's performance (damn him).

My favorite part was the movie in a movie, where

IAWTP. For some reason it amuses me when Tom Cruise uses a potty mouth.

This'll be a rental for me.

We saw it tonight, and hadn't really planned on it.

It was a very pleasant surprise.

Personally, the high point was Jack Black screaming My ass! My ass!.

...which goes a long way to tell you what kind of film it was.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one having trouble deciphering Downey Jr's dialogue.

But still, it was a fantastic movie. Most laughs I've had in one since Superbad.

I still think Cruise was funny only because he was Cruise. And Downey's lines? It was difficult to make it all out, but even when I couldn't understand it was funny. It almost seemed intentional.

I think Cruise was funny because...well, because he was funny. The dane at the end was hilarious. IMO.

Not really. I'm not a big fan of celebrity fawning so I didn't care for Cruise in the movie as it seemed to be all about "look at Tom act like a jerk". Downey Jr. was great in the role but there was too much slapstick stuff, which I don't personally care for.

Maybe I'll like it better with repeat viewings. That's what happened to me with Anchorman and Along Came Polly

To clarify: I didn't find Cruise all that funny, but I think those that did found him funny BECAUSE he was Cruise, not because of the actual performance.

Yeah. And I'm clarifying that I found him funny simply because he was funny. Not everyone's cup of tea? Perhaps. But maybe it's the opposite for you in this case. Maybe you DON'T find it funny simply because it's Cruise. Yeah. That's my theory. It's as sound as yours.
