My Dad once told me that he thought the six issue run of Boys' Ranch
published by Harvel Comics in 1950-51 was some of Simon and Kirby's
best effort.

I recently got the collected hardback (published by Marvel in 1991).
I think the ol' man was on to something here. Fun stuff.

I made Wee Willie Weehawken (the "oldest boy" at Boys' Ranch),
and I redid Angel to make him smaller, and thinned out his face.

They make me want to find the comics! Looks like a fun book. (Any comic with a character named "Palomino Sue" can't be bad. )

The original six issues by Simon and Kirby were put out by Harvey Comics in the 1950s.
Marvel did a hard bound repeat volume of all six issues. You can find them occasionally
on eBay for about the price of Marvel Masterwork or DC Archive, but it's about half as thick.
Still, well worth finding. This series was my father's favorite Simon & Kirby title--and he had
most of the original Captain American run!
