I thought that this was to be a CD. He already released a tour DVD, "Remember That Night" last year.

The news post has been updated... Gilmour's own website has a little more information: Quote: The concert was the only occasion on which David performed the tour material with an orchestra, using the 40-strong string section of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Zbigniew Preisner, who was responsible for the On An Island album's orchestral arrangements. Looks like CD only though, at least for now.

Pre-order links for three different variations of this release have been added to the first post. There's going to be a 2-CD set, a deluxe 2-CD/1-DVD set, and an ultra-special-super-deluxe 2-CD/2-DVD set. No tracklistings yet ...

They are detailed here: http://blog.davidgilmour.com/2008/06/li ... ask-f.html

%#$@&! Let me get this straight... 3 CDs and 2 DVDs in the uber-set - and you *still* don't get the complete show? ("Wot's... Uh the Deal?" is vinyl-only.) Now *that's* what I call taking advantage of your fanbase!

Preorder prices at amazon.com are $20 for 2 CDs, $35 for 2 CDs/1 DVD, or $50 for 2 CDs/2 DVDs. Plus, there's apparently a 3 CD/2 DVD set out there for god knows how much...

I suspect you'll see a Blu-ray version before Christmas. Maybe *that* will include the complete show.

Does anyone know if Crosby & Nash were part of the band for this show?
Thanks!

According to Gilmour's blog ( http://blog.davidgilmour.com), "Wot's" was dropped because "there wasn't enough room for it on the CD." Unfortunately, this response from Gilmour's blogger (FEd) to the inevitable outcry was disappointing: http://blog.davidgilmour.com/2008/06/vi ... -118292332Quote: Fed, do you hear a loud chant for 'Wot's... Uh The Deal'? Fingers crossed and eyes closed tightly, wishing for another surprise.
(I do, but I can't help but feel that it's rather greedy, and more than just a little rude, to loudly chant for anything, considering what's already included. - FEd) Yet Gilmour's main site ( http://www.davidgilmour.com) claims that the track "does however make an appearance over the concert end-credits on the DVD." Yeah, I'll buy it, but seems like yet another case of the artist shooting himself in the foot... what's so damn hard about presenting a performance in its entirety?

Best Buy is now the exclusive U.S. retailer for the 5-disc version. http://www.bestbuy.com/site//olspage.js ... e=categoryAnd the "Wot's" issue has been addressed by making it available as a bonus disc with pre-orders at independent U.S. stores or by purchasing the iTunes version (which also includes 4 additional videos from the multi-DVD sets). http://blog.davidgilmour.com/2008/08/uh-the-deal.htmlGilmour's official blog is doing a good job of providing links to indie retailers offering the bonus disc, too. http://blog.davidgilmour.com/2008/09/index.htmlGiven the various listed prices, it will probably end up costing $90-95 to obtain all tracks and videos on physical media, with the cheapest option being to purchase the 5-disc set via Best Buy and the 2-CD version with the "Wot's" bonus disc.

I just ordered my copy this morning of the 5-Disc set from this Quebec website http://www.archambault.ca for a very decent price. Canadians might want to check it out. 4 hours later Richard Wright's death is announced. Pink Floyd is my favourite band. What a sad, strange day.

The Marquee Cinemas theater in my neck of the woods is advertising a special showing of the David Gilmour Concert movie on 9/22, in DLP Digital Cinema no less!

According to the Gilmour blog, the September 22 screening is supposed to include footage not available on DVD (although all of these tracks will be available on CD). I suspect this footage was deliberately omitted from the DVD to "force" fans to buy CDs and box sets. http://blog.davidgilmour.com/2008/08/co ... emier.htmlPlease note that the presentation includes several songs which won't be on the DVD: 'Speak To Me', 'Breathe', 'Time', 'Breathe (Reprise)', 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' and 'Wish You Were Here'. Unfortunately, it doesn't look to be playing in my area. http://www.thebiggerpicture.us/concerts ... times.html

I just bought the *2CD/2 DVD* version at Long Island's Looney Tunes store. They then threw in the so-called bonus disc as an extra (outside the packaging). Its that "Wot" stuff in a cardboard sleeve. Price was $43. Not sure if the BestBuy version will be anything different from this (doesn't matter to me as I'm not re-buying the set just for a bonus disc). I couldn't pass up getting this when I saw it for sale on the shelf early before street date. Jimbo and Bill also bought a set. btw.....the big reason to get this set is to have "On An Island" finally in 5.1 surround sound. I love that album and now I'm very happy to finally have it in proper surround.

According to davidgilmour.com, the "Wots...Uh The Deal" CD single will only be available at U.S. independent stores with a purchase of Live At Gdansk (like calijawn said above). It will NOT be in that 5-disc Best Buy exclusive.
