i know we don't discuss country a lot around here, but i picked up the first s/t CD by little big town last week for $1. and i really liked it right off the bat.

great, fleetwood mac like harmonies (seriously), nice playing too.

it is a little country tinged, but not terribly so.

anyway, went to three, rather big new/used CD shops in the akron, ohio area yesterday, and couldn't a single copy of anything by them anywhere.

are they that unpopular, or just that unknown?

Actually, I have their album from last year, "A Place To Land", which I liked alot. It reminds me a lot of Buckingham Nicks or "white-album"-era Fleetwood Mac.

They are well known in country circles. Not quite a major act, but on the verge of it. The 2nd CD "The Road to Here" and the 3rd "A Place to Land" are both very good.

They did a CMT "Crossroads" show with Lindsey Buckingham about a year and a half ago.

I got a chance to see them in a 300-400 seat theatre a couple of years ago and they put on a good show.

You can watch some acoustic performances of them here: http://www.cmt.com/videos/unplugged/little-big-town/183814/fine-line.jhtml?id=1572931

i only have the first album and it really is infectious. i keep going back to it.

i could see them crossing into pop-rock very easily.

And an excellent show it was!

I enjoy their music very much. They did a new version of "Life in a Northern Town" with Sugarland and Jake Owen on their recent concert tour. It was fantastic, and just debuted on the Billboard chart just outside the Top 40.

i picked up their other two albums, definitely nice harmonies and the playing and songwriting isn't too shabby either.

i think these guys are gonna be big.

Karen Fairchild of LBT (the tall dark-headed one) is a vocalist on John Mellencamp's new CD.
