They need some new blood. Maguire will be 33 this year and will be too old for the part. He was already looking a little too old in the last one. They should keep the supporting actors like JK Simmons and Rosemary Harris and recast the main role with someone at least ten years younger than Maguire.

Recast please. I don't want to see Tubby Maguire again after how he looked in 3.

Well, Spock was 138 years old in the Unification episode, so you shouldn't feel THAT old.

So, for the movie to take place in 2011, we need an actor who is now 15.

i don't much care who they choose to play Peter Parker so long as Spider-Man is never seen unmasking... Spider-Man 2 and 3 seemed all bout getting Maguire more face time...Spider-Man does not whip his mask off at every opportunity... at least not the Spider-Man i grew up with...

I've been saying this since I saw Brick. I may have even posted that very picture before.
My law firm of Steinbrenner, Nagoo, Fremont, and Steinbrenner will be contacting you shortly.

Or maybe this kid, Logan Lerman? At 16, he's really too young right now, but he is an excellent actor with a ton of experience for someone so young. He was on the TV show "Jack and Bobby" and played the teenaged son in
3:10 to Yuma . In a couple of years he might be perfect.

Not bad, he was pretty good in Yuma.

Bannings: One too few . . .
Logan Lerman -- played Christian Bale's brash son in 310 to Yuma. Imdb says he was born in 1992, so that would put him about right.
