I picked Mick. My favorite Stones album is Satanic Majesties, which had Brian, but my next faves are all Mick's.
1. Satanic Majesties
2. Goat's Head Soup
3. Only Rock'n'Roll
4. Sticky Fingers
5. Let it Bleed

Hey Hank, if you get a moment, review Satanic Majesties for us, will you? What do you like most about it?

Mick Taylor brought a Santana sensibility to the group. I love Woody, but he doesn't have quite range that Mick did.

Well, it's a step beyond their prior merging of the blues and psychedelia, and they did pure psychedelia well. It's a shame they only did the one album of it. (Sure, they had psychedelic bits in earlier songs, like Paint It, Black, and Mother's Little Helper, but they were mixed among the Muddy Waters tributes.) Had they continued down that road, maybe it wouldn't be my favorite, but it's unique among their albums.
Beyond that, all I can do really is recommend the songs that are its highlights - 2000 Light Years From Home could have been covered by Tomorrow or The Pink Floyd (not that Sydless gang who dropped the definite article) and not have sounded out of place in their setlists. She's A Rainbow you might remember from the iMac ads seven or eight years ago. Dainty British chamber music turned joyous with a wall of brass.
Other great bits include The Citadel, 2000 Man, and Bill Wyman's singer/songwriter debut, In Another Land.

1. Satanic Majesties 2. Goat's Head Soup 3. Only Rock'n'Roll 4. Sticky Fingers 5. Let it Bleed Wasn't "Let It Bleed" kind of half-Brian/half-Mick? I thought that Brian Jones had played on a few tracks. My favorite period is kind of late Brian/early Mick. It begins with BEGGAR'S BANQUET and goes through Mick Taylor's early albums. Of course, I understand that Brian was kind of drugged out and worthless toward the end there, so I guess I'll vote for Mick.

I've been a member since '06 but missed this one. I voted for Mick Taylor since he contributed to their best stretch of albums, and his guitar playing elevated their songs to a new level. I love Ronnie Wood as a guitar player, but his greatness was mostly confined to The Faces. Also loved Brian Jones' contributions, but as a guitarist he wasn't in the league of the other two.

Mick Taylor has some really tasty licks. Worked wonders inside their sound in the early 70's (my favorite Stones period).

The Mick Taylor years were when I decided the Stones were my favorite group.

Brian Jones. When the Beatles were still churning out bubblegum like "She's A Woman" and "I'll Follow The Sun", the Stones topped the UK charts with a cover of "Little Red Rooster"--nearly forty-seven years later, Jones' slide guitar is still badass.
Taylor was great, however.
Ron Wood is...um...Ron Wood.

Mick Taylor - Can't You Hear Me Knocking. One track - wins hands down.
I love Ron Wood with the Faces and backing Rod's early solo work (Faces by any other name). And while I'm off topic I love Rod & Ron's time with Jeff Beck.
