Ok. So I have this idea. I know CD's are ancient and almost obsolete... but how about this: Every cd should have a cyber-link included in the Cd box. You go online and type the link in your addy bar and it takes you to a site where you can view "specialized" artwork which is made up especially for that Artists cd. Then people can really enjoy the artwork and covers that come with those tiny CD boxes. There would be one link for all artists of each label, or independant links for indie artists... :ohyes:

What do you guys think? Is my idea any good at all? :o :D

Well, what do you want me to listen to today? "Lollipop" by Lil Wayne? I mean, come on. I'm an old man.

I disagree with the premise that CDs are ancient and almost obsolete.

Exactly. It's their owners who are ancient and almost obsolete.

I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, Jimbo. But where I come from they have never even existed. :|

I just assumed people rarely buy them anymore cause of mp3s and ipods and stuff. :o

She's Anna Nalick. She's a very gifted singer and performer. Here's her website. Check out her song when you get home. :ohyes:

The way I see it, Francine's just telling it like it is. And some day, the downstairs folk will come to understand she was right.

Let's just hope it's before they use those torches and pitchforks.

War has been declared on Mimicka.

Once we've captured them, we will take away their IPODs, internet, and any digital listening devices and make them listen to old LPs and eight tracks and they'll also be forced to watch '70s artists on old VHS tapes.

Actually, all of the above mentioned forms of technology inc, ipods and digital are outdated and do not exist on Mimicka. And we use Synthetic bandwidth. Not the silly human bandwidth stuff you guys use... :o

I think that its a GREAT idea.

It makes me sad that technology and changing tastes in entertainment has meant the demise of so much traditional illustration. The era of magazine art, comics, and now album art have left a huge void in popular art that I fear will not be replaced by the internet.

Chris got me thinking about artwork and how years ago.. he said how it used to be on albums and people would buy a record just for the artwork... I find it sad that that doesn't seem to be a big deal for people now. I wish it were. I like CD cover artwork, but it's so small that it get's kinda watered down or something,...

To actually see the artwork on a 12" x 12" piece of cardboard vs. a 5" x 5" booklet - there's no comparison. Back in the days before videos, you would just look at the album cover while you listened to the album. The videos in my head would always correspond color-wise to the album cover.

Someday Francine, I hope you get to see an actual LP so you can see what I'm talking about. I feel real old when I write stuff like that.

Thanks for sharing that, Chris. I will be sure to find an album cover or 2 to check out sometime. :ohyes:
