Recently, ol' Uncle Rog has had...well, not actually problems logging in on the IMWAN boards...but the cyber-gremlins can't seem to remember my password from one time to the next. (Fortunately, I do.) I have to log in every time...even though I always check the "remember this password" box, it doesn't.

No big deal, of course. Just a minor annoyance. But I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. Or is it just me and my old coal-powered computer?

Inquiring minds like mine want to know.

You may need to clear your cookies in your web browser. The phpBB software we use is very finicky about the cookies and that's usually the trick for those type of problems.

The catch is it will clear any customizations you have for all your websites. So if you have saved passwords on other sites, then you will probably have to re-enter your passwords the first time you go back to those sites.

To clear your cookies in Internet Explorer, select the menu item TOOLS. Then select INTERNET OPTIONS from the drop-down list.

You should see a button that says "Delete Cookies..." Click on that.

A window will come up asking, "Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files folder?" Click the OK button. Then click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.

From there you should be good to go.

I get that all the time too. Not just here, though. I haffa re log-in at every site I frequent.

I was a victim of bad cookies once.......my wife left the dough sitting on the counter overnight, then baked a batch for dessert the next night.
