Somehow, he even manages to make this sound sort of folksy and happy.

Kinda strange that the one place he screwed up the lyrics is the mid section that HE contributed to the song!

I would have liked to hear the whole thing, though. His voice isn't completely there anymore - but it really doesn't matter. He's Paul.

I saw Jeff Lynne do A Day in the Life in concert in 81. It was really cool. Really sad.

Despite my general hatred of Paul McCartney's music (sorry Yvonne) I put "Jenny Wren" on my MP3 player last month and I really kind of love it.

I don't get YouTube at work (I'm assuming that's what this is) so I'll check it out later.

Jeff Beck did a pretty good cover of ADITL at the Eric Clapton Guitar Festival last year. You can find that on YouTube also.

Jeff Beck's bassist is a cutie.

In this video, I mean. I'm not talking about Ron Wood.

That's Tal Wilkenfeld, and yes, she is. She's also an excellent bassist. She really stands out on this song:

Beck is pretty amazing here. He's the only guitarist of the Yardbirds crew who has continued to develop stylistically for four decades. Clapton did a lot of evolution in the 70s, but since has been content to perfect his technique within his particular style. Page doesn't seem to have done anything really fresh in a long time (though from the little I heard his Zep stuff sounded better than ever at the reunion show last year). But Beck is almost another guitarist these days getting tones and colors out of the guitar that no one even imagined in his Yardbirds days.

Stylistically, she reminds me of Victor Wooten from The Flecktones.
