The Smallville thread got me wondering.

What (if any) TV shows do you own on DVD, whether just a season, a 'best of', or the entire run?

I just picked up season 2 of NYPD Blue. Just finished watching the first disc (the last of the David Caruso episodes). I already own the first season, and should pick up season 3 in the next few weeks. Damn, but I love this show!

Seasons 1 through 6 of Buffy. Still haven't found myself able to buy the seventh season, although the completist in me is pretty ticked at that. I just don't like that final season. Hell, really, it's only the first three seasons that I really like (although most of the best single-episodes are in some of the later seasons).

Season 1 of Angel. I might buy the second season. My fiancee wants the rest as well. I could give it a miss.

Season 1 of the Munsters. The less said about this, the better.

The complete 3-disc set of Invader Zim. I friggin' LOVE this show.
I sure do love TV. And wearing pants!

The complete run of Firefly. The only reason I don't own Serenity is that my fiancee bought it, so I just swipe her copy from time to time.

Justice League season 1.

Firefly, complete run.

Stargate SG1, seasons 1 - 7

-----

Batman: The Animated Series Seasons 1, 2

Wonder Woman Season 1

Lexx: Seasons 1 - 4

Adventures of Superman 1 - 4

Dick Van Dyke Show Season 4

Edited to add more.

None as of yet but if I were to buy one it would be SMALLVILLE. THE WEST WING would be a close runner-up.

Ah...fun topic!

Baa Baa Black Sheep Season 1 Volume 1 ~ What a fun way to relive weekend afternoons growing up.

The Brady Bunch Seasons 1 & 2 ~ Need to pick up the other 3 later..

Dukes of Hazzard Seasons 1 & 2 ~ Good fun here! Might snag another season sometime.

The Flintstones: Seasons 1-5 ~ Yabba Dabbo Doo!!! One more set to go...::sniff::

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Season 1 ~ A fun show that got better with age.

Gilligan's Island Seasons 1-3 ~ Just plain fun.

Happy Days: Season 1 ~ Before Fonzie became...The Fonz! Sadly, it doesn't look like Season 2 is ever going to come...

Hogan's Heroes Season 1 ~ Those wacky nazis!

Little House on the Prairie Seasons 1-8 ~ Didn't need "A New Beginning". The rest, for the most part, are great episodes with a few clunkers.

Moonlighting Season 1&2 ~ Hooray!! Loved this show...until they slept together...

Night Court Season 1 ~ Ha! Good stuff. Got better when they added Markie Post

Quantum Leap Season 1-3 ~ One of my favorites. Plus the fact that my wife loved the show, and said that Sam reminds her of me, double plus. :)

Saved by the Bell Season 1-5 ~ Poor Mr. Belding, he never had a chance. Great replay value on these sets.

SchoolHouse Rock ~ It's great to learn, cause knowledge is power!

Scooby-Doo Where Are You? Season 1 & 2 ~ The only two seasons the original lasted, before morphing through the years until we got to the blasphemous demon seed, Scrappy! >: P

SledgeHammer! Season 1 ~ Bwahahaha...this show is still funny after all this time.

Soap Season One ~ Show was great, then Benson left...

Three's Company Season One ~ Funny show, one of these days I'll pick up another.

Wonder Woman Season 1 ~ I don't know that I'll ever get the other two seasons, but there never has been better casting for Wonder Woman than Lynda Carter. ::swoon::

Luckily, by not having cable tv, most of these shows have stayed fresh for us over the years, and I had no problem spending money on them to own and watch as we want to. Plus, we also tried to get many shows that are family friendly, sure kids, plop in these shows, and there's fun for the whole family!

Batman Beyond 1.

That's all, and I love it.

Am I too young to have nostalgia, if not, this certainly did it for me, watched it all in one weekend.

Hey, Frank, did you find that the packaging for both seasons 1 and 2 of NYPD Blue was pretty shoddy?

On both sets, I have several DVD's that just fall out, because the little plastic sprues that are supposed to hold them in the box just fell apart. I'm just curious if it is just me or not.

I was half joking with that comment, it's been (relative) ages since I've seen the show (about a third of my life), but I still have no feeling of nostalgia.

Although that could be because I'm the heartless spawn of Satan who is too cool for emotions.

My teacher made the comment that he has socks that he hasn't even washed since before we (my class) was born.

X-FILES (Seasons 1-9)

LONE GUNMEN (Goes with the X-FILES collection)

HARSH REALM (Another Chris Carter series. Thought I'd check it out, but it's just kind of okay.)

SMALLVILLE (Currently have Seasons 1-3 and will probably buy Season 4 later.)

...and then, there are the Marvel cartoons:

SPIDER-MAN: THE `67 COLLECTION

SPIDER-MAN: THE NEW ANIMATED SERIES (This is the one that ran on MTV.)

FANTASTIC FOUR (The 1990's cartoon.)

That's it.

That'd be my guess.

:P

I don't recall having a whole lot of nostalgia for many series when I was 17 - most of the stuff I would later develop nostalgia for was either still on at that age (in reruns) or had only stopped being played within the previous three or four years.

I think I was at least 26 before I started fondly looking back on stuff like 'The New Adventures of Pinocchio' and 'The Further Adventures of the Wizard of Oz'.
