Just downloaded the demo. It doesn't seem to be quite as good as LEGO Star Wars, but still amusing.

My GRRRRR moment. The thing keeps freezing up my computer. I've yet to make it all the way through because of it. Hopefully this isn't a problem in the finished version, although I read a couple of user reviews of the Star Wars game, where people had this problem. And if that's the case, hopefully a video driver update solves it.

There's also an on-line LEGO Indy game, which is nothing like the real game, but keeps me amused.

This will probably be the second XBOX game that I purchase.

I picked up LEGO STAR WARS on the cheap for my PC and enjoyed it, so odds are I will like this one as well.

Grrrrr, I got the full game... and it's doing the same thing. I'm good for maybe half an hour, then it'll freeze during an explosion. I downloaded new drivers for my video card, but it's the same thing.

I'm about ready to pull out my old video card and put that in. It played LEGO Star Wars well enough. The new one is a lot more powerful, but I never did get around to putting the replacement fan on it. I wonder if it's a problem of the video processing unit heating up to a point that causes the freeze.

The game itself is pretty good. It's not nearly as much fun as LEGO Star Wars, because you don't have so many Jedi characters running around, nor shooting characters. So, it's less fighting and more puzzling things out. But enjoyable when I can get it to not freakin' freeze on me.

LEGO Star Wars would sometimes freeze on my Gamecube, it really pissed me off.

It was rare, and usually only happened on the level where you blow up the Death Star, so once I got passed that level I was so happy.

My copy of LEGO Star Wars is rather glitchy at times, which is quite annoying.

I've got Lego Indy for the Wii coming in the mail from AmazWAN sometime next week.

Cool, tell us how that is, if I get a Wii (which I do want to do, though I'm still not entirely sure if I want a Wii or a 360 more, very difficult decision) I'd probably pick that up and am a little weary of how ports will work on the Wii.

I can't imagine having to wave that damn controller around playing the LEGO games. And the controls, as simple as they are, are a bit too complex for the Wii's basic non-waving-around-like-a-mad-man controller. You need two attack buttons, a jump button, a switch character button, and at least (preferably two) cycle character buttons.

The Wii looks like loads of fun, but I'm constantly amazed at some of the games they port to it. Far Cry... Far Cry... how the hell do you play a first person shooter with that. After watching the Angry Video Game Nerd's Christmas Special, I think the answer is not very well.

I am using the specially made characters this time out. Usually I would just play through the story levels first, then go looking for extras later. That way, you'd end up with all the characters you need to get the extras.

But that's an exercise in frustration, so I go and make a character with the attributes I need (like a rocket launcher or a book or a Thuggie helmet) and bring him into the level to solve the necessary puzzle. Yay!

You can play first person games great on the Wii.

Control the camera angle with the Wiimote and move with the nunchuck analog stick, it works fine (I actually kinda prefer it over dual analog).

And now that I think of it it wouldn't be that difficult to port LEGO Star Wars really, with the simplistic controls no reason it wouldn't work, the motion sensing will likely just not be used in game.

I never could figure out how anyone could play FPS on a console in the first place. I want my keyboard/mouse.

It was always funny to hear people insist that you could play them just as well with a dual analog controller. Then I'd start telling them some of the things you can do with a keyboard/mouse. "You ever take a jump pad to the other side of the map and hit someone going in the opposite direction with a rail gun with a gamepad?" I'm not that good at that sort of thing and even I have pulled it off a few times.

Okay, what are the LEGO wishlists?

Top of the heap: LEGO Harry Potter.

I'd also love to see LEGO Star Trek, featuring various episodes (not so much the movies). The Trouble With Tribbles would fucking kill in LEGO.

A true long-shot would be LEGO Doctor Who. Don't think there is a big enough market for it in America, but you could have fun with all the different Doctors having slightly different powers. Tom Baker with scarf action. Pertwee with martial arts. Colin Baker with the ability to blind people with his horrible costume :)

Dual analog isn't awful, but it's not good, keyboard and mouse works for FPS, the only time I can really stand gaming with a keyboard.

The Wiimote and nunchuck combo to me is like the best of both words (keyboard and mouse and controller).

LEGO Harry Potter probably will happen, since there's already a LEGO Harry Potter line.

LEGO Star Trek could be cool, LEGO Tribbles would be awesom.

LEGO Doctor Who could be cool as well, but it will never happen.

Thankfully, my game has started working properly. Only thing I can figure is that I defragged my hard-drive, which really didn't need it. I've finished Raiders (minus one artifact piece) and am starting on Temple of Doom.

Two movies in with all goodies found.

On a fun level, it's just south of Star Wars. It just doesn't have the action of that one. You really miss the Jedi attacks and most characters don't have guns so not a lot of big shoot-outs. The helmet thing takes some getting used to, because in Star Wars, you found a dispenser that let you know you needed one, but here you find yourself wandering around a level for ten minutes before you realize that you have to pick up an item from a fallen enemy. I've only gotten serious stuck a couple of times. First time was because I forgot all about characters being able to do double-jumps (you really don't use it very often), the second time it took me a while to figure out you had to use the old Emperor trick from Star Wars and switch off in the battle.

The Star Wars cameos are a lot of fun. I've found four of the five... finding them all is supposed to make Han Solo a playable character. It would completely unbalance the game, but it's a shame they didn't let you use the characters from the LEGO Star Wars games (the second SW games let you use the characters from the first). It would be fun to run around ancient temples cackling like the Emperor.
