Thanks for the info, Greg! I was dreading having to shell out $40+ for an import of this.

I wonder why there are only 21 songs listed, not 22?

Thought I'd post this here as well...

I have just purchased the deluxe edition of 22 dreams and it's absolutely brilliant. It might be his best solo album, or at least (for me) it's up there with Wild Wood and his other best work. The thing I love about this one is the variety of styles--it covers just about everything he does well, soul, funk, psychedelic, rock, folk...really fantastic album.

His last album "As Is Now" was a pretty good return to form after a couple of less interesting projects (the covers record for instance), but "22 Dreams" is many notches above "As Is Now".

The bonus disc on the deluxe edition contains 7 or so demos and unreleased tracks and the packaging is very nice, so fans of his work might want to spring for that over the 1 cd version (which still contains 21 songs).

I'll add As is Now and 22 Dreams to my shopping list.

Witchgirl, where did you get your deluxe version? I had ordered mine from cdwow, but they cancelled the order.

Thanks for the post, Witchgirl. I've been thinking about that deluxe version, too. Can't wait to hear this album. Sounds like a real winner.

SirenDisc is listing a "22 Dreams DELUXE" from Japan, expected release date 15-Jul-08, for $42.99

"Deluxe, hardback cover 2CD edition includes a 32 page booklet featuring specially written short story by renowned poet Simon Armitage plus a bonus CD containing eight tracks of demos, instrumental versions and more. Exclusive 'SHM' Mastering."

I missed out on the UK Deluxe version they listed previously, because their information on it indicated it was only one disc, and I didn't want to shell out 40 bucks for what seemed to be only a hardbound booklet. :sigh:

Hi again.

I ordered mine from amazon.co.uk (actually preordered it) because im a big fan of his. If you're a fan of his work the 2 cd thingy is the way to go, as there are a bunch of very good tunes on that second cd, including a fully acoustic version of "Night Lights" that's excellent. For a slightly more casual listener the 1 cd version is probably fine.

I wasn't crazy about Studio 150 or his recent live album "Catch Flame" (bad sound), but this album is on heavy, heavy rotation in my cd player.
