I voted for Jr. (and am the only one man enough to admit it ). As much as I love Sr., and as phenomenal an artist as he is, I think he was, stylistically, somewhat generic. He executed that style brilliantly, but Jr. has developed his only unique look, while having all of his father's strengths.

Tough question.
Romita Sr. defined the way Spider-Man looked. His way became the model from the time he came on board through Todd McFarlane. That's a huge impact.
Jr's has been less.
But which do I prefer?
.....
Senior, slightly. His women were gorgeous. Jr's work is a little odder
But it's great.

They're both great, but I love where Jr. has gone with his art. Not only is he one of the best storytellers in the biz (as was his old man), he has deveoped a quirky, unusual style that I find very appealing.
That said, Sr. defined the Spiderverse even more so than Ditko, in my opinion.

Which do I prefer? JRjr.
Who is the more important artist? Sr. by far, no contest.
I voted Junior.

I think Jr. is a spectacular artist who has really grown in his craft, is a great storyteller, and is technically superior to his father.
Having said that, I've not cared for his artwork since his mid-'80s X-Men run. It just doesn't appeal to my personal sense of aesthetics.
And I've actually sat down in John Romita's office and interviewed him, so he's my choice.

Holy crap this is a tough choice.
John Vincent vs. John Salvatore (they're not actually Sr/Jr.).....hmm.....
I'm gonna go with the younger one.

Both are great. Sr. because Jr. is still a FNG* to me. Heck, Neal adams is still a new guy to me.
* FNG is a Public Safety Industry term. It means "Friendly (or F adjective of your choice) New Guy.

Junior can't even come close to Dad in the inking and linework department. I also think Senior's got a better handle on anatomy.
