http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/20/arts/ ... 0marv.htmlCheck this out in particular: "The story opens with a reckless fight between a novice group of heroes (filming a reality television show) and a cadre of villains. The battle becomes quite literally explosive, killing some of the superheroes and many innocent bystanders." Anyone who read the new "New Warriors" series can guess who the super team in question is. At least we know how Speedball will die now.

Strikes me as very similar to Crisis in the sense that the potential aftermath (where the heroes all get "changed forever") sounds more interesting than the series itself.
Ya think? Any word on what changes they have planned?

From the article:
Mr. Millar said the story would cause a "seismic shift" in the Marvel heroes: "Before the civil war, the Marvel universe was a certain way. After the civil war, the heroes are employed by the government." But don't think that gives away the ending. "Some people refuse to do it," he said, "and those guys are performing an illegal act by doing so."
John sez to Marvel, "No thanks!"

No interest in this at all. Plus, if She-Hulk and Thing get mired in crossovers and related mess, it may well kill my interest in those books as well.

Good, 'cause it sucked for the first 45 years!

Wow this sounds so incredible I can't believe it!
So incredibly stoopid I should say.
I'm out.

I dunno, this actually sounds somewhat interesting to me. It might might a fairly cool trade paperback, for example. But I don't particularly want to have to pick up 20+ issues to get the whole story, and continue to deal with the consequences for years to come in other titles.

I opened this thread expecting an article about the War of Northern Aggression.
Does this mean I am officially out of touch with with comics?
Let's get philosophical:
Did I leave comics, or did comics leave me?

This is why Marvel needs Elseworlds, and new editors who know when something is best left out of continuity.

Just read the Civil War preview.
Does this remind anyone else of a certain DC mini-series that came out at the end of the 20th Century?

Somehow, I like the idea of Cap vs. the Dukes of Hazzard! I wonder if we would see a catfight between She-Hulk and Daisy?
