Stop Making Sense is far and away the best concert FILM ever made, but its soundtrack was lacking until they rereleased it with the complete tracklist.
Live at Leeds, Duh.
I just got The Cowsills In Concert in the mail yesterday, and while not Earth-shattering (it's 100% covers, none of their own songs, plus the "Hair" studio single), it's surprisingly good. Some interesting choices, like brother Paul singing a surprisingly credible version of Sunshine Of Your Love, or sister Susan doing Sopwith Camel's Hello Hello.
Gotta like Blue Rodeo's 2-disc Just Like A Vacation set.
Frampton Comes Alive is what he's remembered for. Excellent album.
And I mostly like Wings Over America for their version of Go Now. No offense to Ray Thomas, Clint Warwick and Mike Pinder, but if you could get Paul McCartney to do your backing vocals, why wouldn't you?

I have a ton of live albums in my collection! Some of the ones that many people consider to be classics are:
Get Your Ya-Ya's Out -- Rolling Stones Live at Leeds -- The Who Live at Fillmore East -- Allman Brothers Band Live and Dangerous -- Thin Lizzy Live Bullet -- Bob Seger Waiting for Columbus -- Little Feat (probably the one I listen to the most!) Frampton Comes Alive -- Peter Frampton Yesssongs -- Yes One More From the Road -- Lynyrd Skynyrd One For The Road -- The Kinks Live Rust -- Neil Young Strangers in the Night -- UFO Alive -- KISS Quintette du Hot Club de France -- Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappeli
More essential listening (as well as some of my favorites):
Bring It Back Alive -- The Outlaws Reach Up & Touch the Sky -- Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes Night After Night -- Nils Lofgren Live Sky -- Crack the Sky Live in the Air Age -- Be Bop Deluxe Certified Live -- Dave Mason Crawler Live (Radio Promo) -- Crawler Ten Years Live -- The Nighthawks Nobody Can Dance -- Big Star
and a few more recent ones that should be rquired listening:
"The Shit Hits the Fans" -- The Replacements Showtunes -- Tommy Keene Live at Raji's -- Dream Syndicate In Case You Didn't Feel Like Plugging In -- The Posies Days of Speed -- Paul Weller Coma Divine -- Porcupine Tree Live Under the Sky -- V.S.O.P.
and a ton of others, plus favorite bootlegs (but that's another list!)

Four Jefferson Airplane Live cds.
Live at Monterey Festival 1967.
4 tracks from Surrealistic Pillow,2 from After Bathing at Baxter's and a couple of others thrown in.Not the best sound quality, blame Wally Heider's remote recording and the technology available at the time. What's good about this album is true of all live cuts, you get to hear improvised or re-worked tracks familiar from the studio versions.Grace Slick makes an attempt to play keyboards and sing a garbled intro on Marty Balin's "Today".Perhaps she was a little worse for wear after doing what Bill Clinton never did.
Bless Its Pointed Little Head. 1969.
Has to be one of the live recordings of that decade part recorded at Filmore East and West ,with Kaukonen and Cassidy on top form. This album has the best version of "Plastic Fantastic Lover",and the rest of the album is pretty scorching too.A strange intro to the set still mystifies me."Clergy"-sounds like a recording from a drive-in movie,a plane is heard to sweep low overhead,a old duffer mutters some soundtrack dialogue about"the planes"and the crowd are heard to cheer and later boo and hiss.Odd,but it somehow fits.
Live at The Family Dog Ballroom 1969.
Recorded in September 1969 at the above venue and intriguing to Airplane fans as this contains no less than 5 tracks that would barely two months later all appear on the "Volunteers" album.Apparantly the tapes were only recently discovered. Also contains great versions of "Crown Of Creation" and "Wooden Ships" and a jam with the leader of that other band,Jerry Garcia,on the closing track.Damn good sound.
Live at Winterland Arena 22nd September 1972.
The last ever concert by the band until 1989.Features predominantly tracks from the last two Airplane albums "Long John Silver" and "Bark".Far less psych-pop from the earlier years and a move to a more rock oriented approach. The sound recording isn't that great in places,-theres an odd edit during "Feel So Good"and it does not contain the full concert as the liner notes suggest(the encore with Marty Balin is missing)However those criticisms aside, this is a good concert recording for fans which captures the essence of this farewell gig.Good versions and 2 individual performances by Papa John Creach on electric violin.
