I love it.

And Batman's about two seconds away from pushing Robin off that ledge.

Given that it's a cover for All-Star B&R, he probably is, in fact, likely to be doing just that!

I like Quitely, but this is pretty ordinary to me. The composition looks poor to me. Also, I don't really like how he draws Bats' head piece. His Robin is interesting tho.

I agree with Rob on the composition -- though presumably text on the right will balance it out -- but otherwise I think that's a great image. Fantastic Batman, suitably teenlike Robin. Good stuff.

The composition is excellent-- it's called negative space.

Thumbs up.

Looks okay, composition-wise. But it really needs to have the logo and indicia added to judge how it will work as a cover.

Is it just me, or do Frank Quitely's faces tend to look kind of puffy? I've seen relatively little of his art. It doesn't grab me.

BTW, those are some serious waffle-stomper boots Batman's wearing! I hope they're lighter than they look!

They are designed with The Original Intent of The Creator in mind.

It isn't just you. I like Quitely's art, but it's definitely an acquired taste.

?? Er, I have no problem with the negative space. Rather, I don't care for how the two characters are composed in relation to each other. It's art... it's subjective.

My original opinion of Quitely was that he was a crappy artist. Now I can't get enough of his stuff. I don't think I've made such a huge swing on any other artist.

I agree. However, I don't understand the people that think FQ is horrid. You might not dig his style, but there is no denying the man can draw! He is so inventive and original.

Quitely's artwork reminds me of the artwork I've seen in children's books. It reminds me of a Caldecott Medal children's book.

I like it; but why (yeah, artistic license) does Batman look like he's dropped in from DKR? In All*Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder Batman's supposed to be in his mid to late 20s not 50s!
