:sigh:

If this were the old days and CSN was putting out new albums every year or two, I'd be looking forward to seeing what they could do with this sort of project. Now, though, when they put out a new album once every...well, if you count CSNY (and I do) 8 years, I'd rather hear what they've got to say for themselves.

Still, I'll be first in line to buy it and I'm still wishing they were coming down to Florida on this tour.

Neal

Is this an April Fool's joke? I'd still get it, and the joke isn't remotely funny, but I wonder...

Stills is playing an autism benefit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend. I'd like to go but tickets are $100!

i heard CPR do an outstanding version of steely dan's "home at last".

i would welcome a covers album, without a doubt.

Sounds interesting. I'm in, especially if there are more unexpected covers like Steely Dan.

Stills has done at least 2 NY covers: New Mama & Only Love Can Break Your Heart

"Stills has done at least 2 NY covers: New Mama & Only Love Can Break Your Heart."

Stills also recorded The Loner.

James Taylor is doing a covers album. Van Morrison, the Band, David Bowie, John Lennon and other worthies have done covers albums. Sometimes the song-writing well runs dry for a bit and this can be a good way to replenish it. No problem for me.

You know, about 20 years ago, a DJ's for one of the Big radio stations here in Chicago announced that that was the next album they were working on. They were going to cover Hollies, Byrds, and Springfield songs. I don't know if it was true, or he had his info wrong (which is most often the case with DJ's), but I never heard anything else about it.

And yes, I'd be all over this release!

I love Neil Young but he was the worst thing that ever happened to CSN.

Check the first post for a nice (?) surprise. This will supposedly be the concert soundtrack portion of the "Deja Vu" documentary film due in theatres around the same time.

This may be a tease. I'll believe it when I have it in my hands. It is good news, as I heard they put on a good show.

linda,

don't tease me like that. :)

i sure hope neil doesn't fuck this up.

a question: why only one disc, their shows were nearly 3 hours long.

No one's mentioned this, but I hope this is good. With the vocal problems they've had live for the past 25 years or so, I HOPE there's lots of overdubs. I do plan to buy it.

First thought that came to mind is ... maybe they got Neil's permission to put this out by making it an album of only Neil's songs. ;)

geff,

i must respectfully disagree with your statement.

stephen stills has definitely lost someof his vocal rangem most of his tunes in a lower octave today, but david crosby sings better now than he ever has, the last time i saw him and nash he sang like a f**king angel, just stupendous. literally brought down the house with "almost cut my hair" - gave you shivers!

and nash ain't slouch either.

when crosby and nash sing with stills (james raymond and mike finnigan are usually in there too) they sound pretty damn good to these ears, actually as good as ever and i've been seeing them live for 30+ years.

one disc just isn't enough, i hope it's a mistake, hell, 2 discs isn't enough, when i saw them they did "down by the river" for 30 minutes!
