I love this song. It makes me think about how it could have been if i had found that someone special; How it has been with the almost special ones I have found; and How much i appreciate the special friends and loved ones I have now and have lost as time has gone on. And How it could be when i find the Right one in the future. i don't mean a Mr. Right, or Prince Charming just the right person for me, the one who gets me, understands my humor and needs; all of that. So I can say Remember when and still smile even if it was a painful memory because I learned something from it. usually something important. Like I am a stronger person for loss, i can be beautiful and loved. I am worth something more than I thought before...
Remember When Alan Jackson
Remember when I was young and so were you and time stood still and love was all we knew You were the first, so was I We made love and then you cried Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows and walked the walk Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard We lived and learned, life threw curves There was joy, there was hurt Remember when
Remember when old ones died and new were born And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged We came together, fell apart And broke each other's hearts Remember when
Remember when the sound of little feet was the music We danced to week to week Brought back the love, we found trust Vowed we'd never give it up Remember when
Remember when thirty seemed so old Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone To where we are, Where we've been Said we'd do it all again Remember when Remember when we said when we turned gray When the children grow up and move away We won't be sad, we'll be glad For all the life we've had And we'll remember when

I have met several different sorts of guys in my life. Some were wonderful, some were not so great. I have actually only dated 3 times. But some relationships aren't all about dating but about friendships. And I have learned a lot about myself along the way. I still have a ways to go but I am feeling better about what I need now. And I am taking care of what is more important at the moment. ME Maybe that is selfish, but I need to be my own best friend first.....

Relying upon yourself is a great place to start. The beauty of that relationship, is it helps you better to love and respect yourself. It also brings about an inner confidence that you can draw upon as needed. You are able to define yourself yourself without having to define yourself by how you expect others want or need you to be. Nothing selfish about that. It's better for other people, too.
