She's headling a tour across the US this year, but this can only be bought from Japan, at a whopping $50???? Stupid.

Don't get why this is being billed as her first studio album in 12 years....SHINE was a full studio album which came out (In Japan only) in 2004 and AT LAST was a studio album, albeit covers in 2003 and THE BODY ACOUSTIC was a studio album of Cyndi's older songs re-recorded came out in 2005....even if it is considered her first album of new songs, it still hasn't been 12 years...more like 4 years since SHINE.

But I agree they're really stretching a point here, so I'll remove that from the subject line of the thread.

That's what I was wondering-it has not been 12 years. I had no clue what they were getting at there. My wife is a huge Cyndi Lauper fan, and she said she had heard that this might be available only at Cyndi's US shows this year, so maybe there's hope for those that don't want to pay 80,000 yen or whatever the hell it is.

I was talking to Jimbo the other night and saying that it was really sad that an American artist like Lauper can't even get a domestic release for her album. I don't know what Jimbo did, but I think I'm going to start referring to him as "Don Jimbo." :shock:

Got this Japanese import today. Her voice is still great and SAME OL STORY should be a hit, but a lot of the cd has generic dance music from the 90's. Might grow on me more.

I got a promo today at 'Rama. If "Same Ol' Story" is to get on the radio, it'll need a serious overhaul. If I'm hearing right, the 'F' word is repeated 50 or more times.
